So I spent a few days in London before heading home. I hadn't been to the British Museum sine 1992, so I checked to see if it was all free, and went. It hasn't changed that much, just more modern interior. Afterwards I thought what haven't I seen in London, so I went and visited the Queen, and all of her dead ancestors at Windsor Castle. It was actually pretty cool, I'm glad I did. And Windsor village is quaint. I finished of my vist with a Piccadilly musical, "Moulon Rouge".

The British Museum is a public museum dedicated to human history, art and culture located in the Bloomsbury area of London. Its permanent collection of eight million works is the largest in the world. It documents the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present.

Windsor Castle is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire, about 25 miles (40 km) west of central London. It is strongly associated with the English and succeeding British royal family, and embodies almost a millennium of architectural history.
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. It is open to visitors throughout the year.

Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has since been the home of 40 monarchs.

The Chunnel Train between London and Paris always stops here. So I've passed through Lille at least 4 times. Each time I looked out the window, asks said, " that's a beautiful city I need to vist it one day". So finally I did, and it didn't disappoint.

Lille is the capital of the Hauts-de-France region in northern France, near the border with Belgium. A cultural hub and bustling university city today, it was once an important merchant center of French Flanders, and many Flemish influences remain. The historic center, Vieux Lille, is characterized by 17th-century brick town houses, cobbled pedestrian streets and the large central square, Grand Place.

I'm in Iceland freezing my butt off. The wind chill factor is no laughing matter.

Iceland, a Nordic island nation, is defined by its dramatic landscape with volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, and lava fields. Massive glaciers are protected in Vatnajökull and Snæfellsjökull national parks. Most of the population lives in the capital, Reykjavik, which runs on geothermal power and is home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history.

Reykjavik, on the coast of Iceland, is the country's capital and largest city. It's home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history. The striking concrete Hallgrimskirkja church and rotating Perlan glass dome offer sweeping views of the sea and nearby hills. Exemplifying the island’s volcanic activity is the geothermal Blue Lagoon spa, near the village of Grindavik.

Gullfoss ("Golden Falls"; Icelandic pronunciation:ⓘ [ˈkʏtl̥ˌfɔsː]) is a waterfall located in the canyon of the Hvítá river in southwest Iceland.

Sigríður Tómasdóttir, the daughter of Tómas Tómasson, was determined to preserve the waterfall's condition and even threatened to throw herself down. Although it is widely believed, the very popular story that Sigríður saved the waterfall from exploitation is untrue.[citation needed] A stone memorial to Sigriður, located above the falls, depicts her profile.

Gullfoss is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. Together with Þingvellir and the geysers of Haukadalur, Gullfoss forms part of the Golden Circle, a popular day excursion for tourists in Iceland
Jökulsárlón (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈjœːkʏlsˌaurˌlouːn] ⓘ; literally "glacial river lagoon") is a large glacial lake in southern part of Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland. Situated at the head of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, it developed into a lake after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.

I've been somewhat remiss in my posting for the last week, and a half or so. I fell into a general malaise due to events that occurred in my home country of the United States. I've recovered, and now I'll get you all up to date on my zigzag through Europe.

Copenhagen I've been here a few times before, I just stopped by to hang out with an old friend for a few days. I was still a little bummed out, but getting better. I guess I was nearing the last stages of grief. Acceptance, or as I call it, " no longer giving a f...."

The Danish do an amazing job of keeping this castle is good order.

Rosenborg Castle (Danish: Rosenborg Slot) is a renaissance castle located in Copenhagen, Denmark. The castle was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606 and is an example of Christian IV's many architectural projects. It was built in the Dutch Renaissance style, typical of Danish buildings during this period, and has been expanded several times, finally evolving into its present condition by the year 1624. Architects Bertel Lange and Hans van Steenwinckel the Younger are associated with the structural planning of the castle.

Stockholm, I wanted to have a bit of fun here, but I was so bummed out, I just sort walked around in a semi unconscious state of mourning. But I digress, it was cold and wet, but I tried to make the best of it.

Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, encompasses 14 islands and more than 50 bridges on an extensive Baltic Sea archipelago. The cobblestone streets and ochre-colored buildings of Gamla Stan (the old town) are home to the 13th-century Storkyrkan Cathedral, the Kungliga Slottet Royal Palace and the Nobel Museum, which focuses on the Nobel Prize. Ferries and sightseeing boats shuttle passengers between the islands.

The Royal Palace is beautiful, I missed going here the other two times I visited Stockholm. It's a close second to Versailles. I guess because Bernadotte came from France, and modeled the interior on Versailles.

Stockholm Palace, or the Royal Palace, (Swedish: Stockholms slott or Kungliga slottet) is the official residence and major royal palace of the Swedish monarch (King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia use Drottningholm Palace as their usual residence). Stockholm Palace is in Stadsholmen, in Gamla stan in the capital, Stockholm. It neighbours the Riksdag building. The offices of the King, the other members of the Swedish royal family, and the Royal Court of Sweden are here. The palace is used for representative purposes by the King whilst performing his duties as the head of state.

Cologne was where it was starting to get a little cooler. And that cathedral is a wonder of Gothic architecture. In WWII 90% of the city was destroyed, but the didn't destroy the cathedral. Not because they were being benevolent. But the because they used it map out their bombing runs. It was the most recognizable ground reference point.

Cologne, a 2,000-year-old city spanning the Rhine River in western Germany, is the region’s cultural hub. A landmark of High Gothic architecture set amid reconstructed old town, the twin-spired Cologne Cathedral is also known for its gilded medieval reliquary and sweeping river views. The adjacent Museum Ludwig showcases 20th-century art, including many masterpieces by Picasso, and the Romano-Germanic Museum houses Roman antiquities.

I may condense a few of these cities together first up is Lausanne, Switzerland. Beautiful city everything was closed, because it was "All Saints Day weekend".

Lausanne is a city on Lake Geneva, in the French-speaking region of Vaud, Switzerland. It’s home to the International Olympic Committee headquarters, as well as the Olympic Museum and lakeshore Olympic Park. Away from the lake, the hilly old city has medieval, shop-lined streets and a 12th-century Gothic cathedral with an ornate facade. The 19th-century Palais de Rumine houses fine art and science museums.

Next up from the clock to the cathedral Strasbourg. Which I stopped at before, but I was hoping to see some Christmas decorations. But they were just in the early stages of settingthem up.
Strasbourg is the capital city of the Grand Est region, formerly Alsace, in northeastern France. It's also the formal seat of the European Parliament and sits near the German border, with culture and architecture blending German and French influences. Its Gothic Cathédrale Notre-Dame features daily shows from its astronomical clock and sweeping views of the Rhine River from partway up its 142m spire.
