Truly a property like no other! This unique and rustic getaway is nestled in the trees, perched on the shores of renowned Duck Lake. Featuring a walk out patio with stunning views of Duck Lake's majestic crystal clear blue waters and sandy bottom. Winnipesaukee is the Indian word for "beautiful water in a high place" and this property is the perfect place for a quaint and tranquil getaway and yet just a short one and half miles from everything Interlochen has to offer. An easy drive to the resort town of Traverse City as well. Our historic lake house built in 1935 boasts seven bedrooms, room for everyone, one main floor bedroom and the rest are on the second level with a balcony overlooking the great room with vaulted ceilings. The sun room provides breathtaking views of the lake and protection from the weather, step outside and enjoy all that northern Michigan has to offer. The rustic lakefront house has its own private beach, no roads to cross, just fun and relaxation. At night sit around the built in fire pit on the bricked patio and enjoy a quiet night in "Up North Michigan". Walk down our private staircase that leads to the waters edge where you are greeted by a sandy beach and our boat dock; this unique space is the perfect place to enjoy the vibe of the lake and the abundance of fun. Step aboard our included (June 1st to October 1st) 2021 Bennington Pontoon and power out to the lake to Relax and Restore - Winnipesaukee Cottage has it all.
Interlochen has many great features including concerts, a world class school of the arts, small shops, many restaurants, ice cream and beautiful lakes. If you want to head to Traverse City it is a 15 minute car ride away.
We have made many updates for the 2021 season, new kitchen with stainless steel appliances and new cabinets and flooring. The lower lever shower has been redone with a modern/retro feel. New pontoon boat with room for 10 and a new grill on the patio. Many new pieces of furniture including sofas and chairs. Many of the bedrooms have new led lighted headboards and new memory foam mattress. There is no AC but the cool nights and the new 72” ceiling fans in the great room will keep the air moving. New carpeting and new bathroom flooring is scheduled to be installed in September 2021. We hope you like what we’ve done to make your stay the best it can be.
