When the original estate of Kenwood was built in 1912 it featured a tennis court, lake, formal gardens with fountains, stables, a greenhouse, and even a golf course! The grounds are not as extensive as they once were, but the restructured Kennington's Mansion is opulent as ever.

In the 1920s, the grounds of the original estate, Kenwood, featured tennis courts, fountains, a lush rose garden, a greenhouse, a barn with stables, and even a lake. Incredible to think this was all in Belhaven's back yard!

It's our honor to keep details from the past. The historic transom windows were originally a way to vent and circulate air, and allowed light into the interior hallways. While we don't need them for ventilation any more, we still love that they allow natural light to pour into each room!

Fun fact! The grounds that Kennington's Mansion sits on were originally home to Kenwood Estate. This picture-perfect location housed tennis courts, a large pergola with fountains, lush rose gardens, a peach orchard, a greenhouse, horse stables, and a lake back in the 1920s.
