Colorado Adventures - Day 3
Our first adventure today - The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway Cog Rail to Pikes Peak. We took the COG railway to the top of Pikes Peak venturing to the summit of 14,115ft above sea level. We took this COG electric train to the top and took some amazing photos and ate the famous Pike Peak donuts.
Next we made our way to the Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs. Garden of the Gods is home to a plethora of geological and ecological rarities that make the park a prime site for nature lovers. Absolutely breathtaking. We hiked, we climbed, and saw some magical sites.
Last, we explored Old Colorado City. Colorado City became the first permanent town in the Pikes Peak region in 1859.

Adventures in Colorado- Day 2
I booked a rafting excursion with our fabulous vendor, Project Expeditions.
We drove out to Idaho Springs, CO, an old mining town, to meet up with out rafting company, Downstream Adventures Rafting.
We did a half day trip down Clear Creek running a beginner level trip, since 3 of us have never rafted before!
Let me tell you - it was a blast! I wish I had rafted long ago, I’m sure my life direction would have turned out differently. Haha 😂 Now I’m ready to run another one!
Next, the boys have been begging to pan for gold. So we visited an old gold mine, Argo Gold Mine and Mill. They have tours that take you into the mine and give the history. Here the boys were able to complete their gold panning wish.
On our way back to Colorado Springs, we stopped to see Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. Being big DMB fans, we had to stop to see this infamous Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Wow - so amazing to see in person! We couldn’t just walk into the Amphitheatre since they were getting ready for a concert but we could explore all around it! I’ll be back for sure - hopefully for a DMB concert!

Took in the waves of the Gulf of Mexico today. Rode in a Tuk Tuk. Walked around Puerto Viejo and took in the local stuff.

Local flight from SJO to Limon. Nerve wrecking, but you see so much of the country. Breathtaking!

Sometimes you don’t have to travel far to experience new things. Life is about adventure, experiences, and making memories.
For our 14th wedding anniversary, ivory, is the dedicated symbol for celebration. So, we celebrated by experiencing with elephants at Two Tails Ranch. Two Tails Ranch is located in Williston, Fl, which is about 30 minutes from Gainesville.
Two Tails Ranch has housed over 300 elephants over the years. They come here to seek care, rehabilitation, temporary housing, retirement and reproduction. Their goal is to continue to learn from the elephants and help them into the future, by teaching others and spreading knowledge so they may be here for future generations to love and cherish.
Meet Shell- she was our host elephant for the day. She’s a beautiful Asian Elephant who is in her 40s and loves to be scrubbed.
We were able to pet her, take a ride, give her a bath, feed her carrots, and strike a pose. Such a great experience!
