How did these oyster shells end up on this Cumberland Island ravine? The answer may be different from what you expect! Discover it here.
Look how pure white that horse is! Could he be royalty?
To strengthen the local feral herd, the Carnegies in the late 1800s brought in all types of horses: Tennessee Walkers, Western Mustangs, Arabians - even a white stallion from the stud farm of the Russian tsar!
So let's imagine this horse is a descendant of that original stallion and call him the "prince"!

You can see in this "harem," or family, there is an adult male, an adult female, a yearling, and another adolescent one or two years older.
The best way to tell the age of horses is by studying their teeth, but on Cumberland we don't have that luxury! So for us, the best way to tell their age is by observing their tail length.

We don't limit this fun to just kids; adults can also partake on our all-day Cumberland tour! Don't you want to try it for yourself??
