Located below the Milford Lake Dam, the center provides indoor and outdoor displays.
At the center, you'll have the chance to see and touch native animal furs, print their own animals tracks, and use their sense of touch to identify natural mystery items. Dioramas line the halls, depicting an aquatic system with over 300 life-like fish, turtles, snakes, and insects and a terrestrial system showcasing wildlife from the prairies, marshes, and woods.

Rathert Stadium in Junction City, KS.
Throughout the Midwest, especially in the Sunflower state, Rathert Stadium is given the declaration of the finest baseball stadium in the state of Kansas.
Built in the late 1930's as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's "New Deal", the ball stadium comes complete with a circular sheltered wooden seating area behind home plate and the perfect backdrop to soak in a local community ball game with a storied history surrounding you. Once played on by baseball legend Buck O'Neil and home to the local Junction City High School Blue Jay teams and Junction City Brigade, Rathert Stadium does not disappoint!

KaBoom!
In 1974 the commander of Fort Riley's 1st Infantry Division managed to acquire the gun, for installation and display on post. He chose the site on the southern side of I-70, overlooking the airfield and clearly visible to potential visitors. The task of bringing the gun to the site fell to the 34th Engineer Battalion, which had to coordinate with numerous state and local officials, as well as local farmers, to move the gun to the site in 1975.
If you drive west of Kansas City on I-70, you'll eventually notice a large bluff with a huge cannon sitting on top, exit 301. A nearby park shelter provides visitors with information and a plaque commemorating Atomic Annie's role in military history. There is a modest uphill trail, past an M1 155 mm Howitzer and other guns and vehicles used by the United States over the years, and at the top sits one of the surviving M65s. The only Atomic Annie to be fired, however, is at Fort Sill in Oklahoma.

Junction City is the Headwaters of the KS River.
What does the National Water Trail mean?
The National Water Trails System is a network of water trails open to the public to explore and enjoy. The system also serves as a community of water resource managers that benefit from information sharing and collaboration. National Water Trails are a sub-set of the National Recreation Trails. National Water Trails have been established to protect and restore America’s rivers, shorelines, and waterways; conserve natural areas along waterways; and increase access to outdoor recreation on shorelines and waterways. The Trails are a distinctive national network of exemplary water trails that are cooperatively supported and sustained.
