Historic Rathert Stadium in Junction City, KS.
It would be hard to beat a better example of a ball field in our minds, one that speaks to history, and one that gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling like that of the Rathert Stadium Ball Park in Junction City, KS. Throughout the Midwest, especially in the Sunflower state, Rathert Stadium is given the declaration of the finest baseball stadium in the state of Kansas.
Built in the late 1930's as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's "New Deal", the ball stadium comes complete with a circular sheltered wooden seating area behind home plate and the perfect backdrop to soak in a local community ball game with a storied history surrounding you. Once played on by baseball legend Buck O'Neil and home to the local Junction City High School Blue Jays and Junction City Brigade,

Dracula at the CL Hoover Opera House on Nov. 1, 2, 3 and Nov. 8,9, 10.
As Count Dracula begins to exert his will upon the residents of London, they try to piece together the clues of his appearances in a valiant attempt to save themselves from a hideous fate. Rich with both humor and horror, this play paints a wickedly theatrical picture of Stoker's famous vampire.

First Territorial Capitol of Kansas (18 Huebner Road, Fort Riley, KS) The first Kansas Territorial Legislature met in this building from July 2-6, 1855. The settlement was originally called Pawnee. How this settlement came to be within the boundaries of Fort Riley is a long and twisted tale. Military and civilian officials were involved in land speculation, hoping the site would become the state capital. But the legislators who came here were divided over the question of how to organize the territory and adjourned never to return. This brief meeting was but a foreshadowing of the bitter power struggle that would simmer and eventual erupt between pro- and anti-slavery forces during the Civil War.
