Earlier today one of our mini-busses’ in Ketchikan was traveling to a local hotel without passengers onboard. During a down shifting procedure to gain power traveling up the grade the mini-bus lost momentum and rolled backwards breaching a guardrail, ending up in a creek bed below. Safety is our number one priority and we will be conducting a thorough review of this incident. First and most importantly, we are very relieved our driver-guide escaped without significant injury and want to thank the bystanders in the area who assisted our driver-guide to safety. We also want to thank the local authorities on scene who assisted with traffic control and ensuring our team member was ok. As an Alaskan and Native Owned company we are grateful to our neighbors in the communities and thank you for your understanding during the road closure tomorrow morning to have the vehicle professionally removed.

Southeast Alaska is not easily accessible by road. Only three towns in SE AK have road access and they happen to be pretty tiny. SE AK relies on barges to supply goods to all communities. Even our trusty motor coaches are transported via barge. It’s always a good day to see the barge arriving!
