Meet our winter pawfessional office staff!

Sailor: she manages the whole office and makes sure all pups stay barkriffic and don’t steal too many treats.

Gurdie: She may look like the desk is her nap station, but her job is boosting morale one tail wag at a time. Watch your treats, she can sniff them out a mile away.

Wilbur: he is the newest addition to the team and enjoys monitoring the website, fetching ideas like a pro! He has short legs, but big dreams.

Each year at our Annual Convention in October, ATIA recognizes individuals and organizations who have gone above and beyond to serve Alaska’s visitors and the tourism industry with our Industry Awards. Nominations are currently being accepted through September 6. We’ll be highlighting all of our awards over the next several weeks!

The Aurora Award recognizes an emerging leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity, and initiative in his/her profession. Nominees must work in Alaska tourism year-round and be younger than 35 years old. Nominees must have worked in the tourism industry for at least five years and be a role model for others, personally and professionally. Last year’s recipient was Elizabeth Barlow from Above & Beyond Alaska. Previous recipients have been Anthony Giliam from Premier Alaska Tours, KC Hostetler from Alaska Airlines, and Katie Caswell from Alaska.org.
