Tomorrow, we'll be planting native wildflowers, plants, and trees on the newly created Sawfish Island with our friends from Palm Beach ERM.

We have 9 spots left, and rentals are free. We'll depart from Blueline at 7:30 am and paddle about half a mile to Sawfish Island.

Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water to drink.

After tomorrow's planting, we'll need volunteers to water the plants. We'll continue to offer free rentals—just paddle to the island and use the water available there.

Join us next month, June 22nd, for Boating Safely class in collaboration with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” and the AustinBlu Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and promoting educational programs to improve boater safety. The class is from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The class costs $10 to register; cost of $10 will be refunded to all students who complete the class. Recommended for children 12 years and up, but all ages are welcome.

We and our partners are gearing up to deploy our drift cards for the 11th experiment in our study of marine debris motion! Once the purple eco-friendly wooden drift cards are in the water, we will be calling on everyone to channel their inner citizen scientist and be on the lookout along the coast. While the cards are deployed into the Lake Worth Lagoon and Intracoastal Waterway, cards have been found all along the east coast of Florida in past experiments, so please help us spread the word and follow the instructions on the card to report any you find!
