With a little help from friends, anything is possible.

Aflac helped pre-K through 2nd graders experience what, for many, was their first live stage production — a musical adaptation of the beloved children's book "Giraffes Can't Dance" by Giles Andreae.

For most of the students, the field trip was not only their first time seeing a show at the grand RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Aflac's hometown of Columbus, Georgia, but their very first musical theater experience ever.

It was an incredible morning for the nearly 300 students, and we were happy to support an experience that sparked creativity, imagination and a love of learning.

This June, we celebrate the courage and resilience of cancer survivors during National Cancer Survivors' Month. The journey isn't an easy one, but the strength and perseverance of survivors is truly inspiring.

Since 1995, Aflac has helped fund childhood cancer research and treatment. Our partners at Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center have provided survivor care to 2,179 pediatric cancer survivors in the last five years.

Last month, Aflac employees in Columbia raised money at the 11th annual Curing Kids Cancer Fire Truck Pull, benefiting Prisma Health Children's Hospital in Columbia.

The team pulled for three children treated for cancer, and they wore costumes representing the kids' favorite things – from race cars to gaming and crazy hair.

We've been pulling for children with cancer since 1995 and Aflac first supported Curing Kids Cancer in 2005. Aflac Group has been the presenting sponsor of this event for the last five years!

Thank you to all the teams that participated and helped to fund research and treatments that target childhood cancer.

Simone serves as the Family Resilience Lead for the Springfield National Guard Unit, supporting families year-round. Her extensive contributions include leading donation drives, activities, and providing assistance for a cold weather shelter and homeless food initiatives.

My Special Aflac Duck® provides comfort to children when they need it most.

Data from a recently released study of 160 children, as well as their parents and providers, conducted at eight U.S. hospitals that treat pediatric cancer, found that the robotic companion can help reduce procedural and treatment anxiety among pediatric patients being treated for cancer.

The results of the 3-year study were reported at the 2024 American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology (ASPHO) annual meeting in Seattle.

We look forward to sharing the scientific abstract when it is published in the peer-reviewed journal Pediatric Blood & Cancer.
