It seems like everyday something else happens. It's official our fleet of Hewescraft Boats has arrived in Ketchikan at The Bay Company. One step closer to having everything ready for August, who's going to be the first one to take these out and fill them with fish?

With the new water tanks on the way it's time to start building a path up to where they will go and burn more brush. Gary and Max worked on the siding by themselves today and knocked it out of the park, it's so nice to be able to divide and conquer. The sun was out again today and the solar is working like a champ so we are completely sun powered for the third day in a row.

What a gorgeous day here in Dall Bay, spring is in the air and progress is happening everyday.

One of the common questions we get is about Dall Bay Lodge accommodations. Our goal is to provide comfortable cabins for our guests during thier stay. This means no bunk beds here! We have crafted 2 bedroom cabins with 4 full-time beds, a full bath with oversized walk in shower, and a comfortable living room.

Our 3200 square foot lodge has a greatroom with a dining area, a full size pool table, a poker table, and a cozy sitting area for hanging out and telling lies... I mean fish stories.

Outdoors we have a large deck with fire pits and seating to enjoy the warm evenings. The property is completely connected by boardwalks with no stairs anywhere on the property.

The sun came out today. So we took full advantage, getting windows installed and siding on the third cabin, while John worked on staining trim. Then ended the day with smoked meatloaf for dinner.

Everyday big changes happening around here, it truly takes an amazing team to make a project like this happen including Abby Simpson back in Washington staging materials to get shipped up here, today I'm pretty sure she thought I lost my mind when this load got delivered 😂.

One of the questions often asked is how do we get there. It is incredibly easy to get here, from Seattle it's a 90 minute flight into Ketchikan Alaska, yes on a real plane from there we will pick you up at the airport dock with your boat, from there we will make our way down to Dall Bay it's approximately 15 miles and takes about 40 minutes. So what that means is if you catch the early flight from Seattle you can be fishing by 11:00 the same morning.

We had a great last day here in Dall Bay with Dale Aschenbrenner, he has been an amazing help and we can't wait for him to come back and bring Barbara Ollivier Aschenbrenner with him. Today Dale Gary and I continued working on siding the second cabin, and John and Max made a mountain of sawdust planing the tounge and groove cedar Soffit boards.
