Typical government inefficiency. Went to buy a one year saltwater fishing license, no such option on the website despite many choices. Called the number and was told the one year saltwater license is only sold as a combo with a freshwater license. It was hidden in a different area of the ordering process. To make it worse, I only need the license for 8 months since I don't need one after my birthday next year.

Marine forecast for the Keys:
Gale Watch... Northeast winds 20 to 30 knots with gusts up to 35 knots and seas 7 to 12 feet expected tonight through tomorrow afternoon. Winds will increase to near 30 knots with frequent gusts up to 35 to 40 knots tomorrow evening.
Looks like it will be a little bumpy out on the water...

It amazes me that during every hurricane, boaters out at sea have to be rescued. This has been announced for days. It's not a last second weather event. Even if you have a breakdown out there a day or two before, you have time to call for assistance. If you broke down at the last minute, you shouldn't have been out there to begin with. In the previous storm, two guys tried to out run the hurricane, IN A SAILBOAT!!! HELLO !!!! They were docked in the Keys and instead of waiting, headed up the Gulf coast thinking they could out run it. Incredible.

Sitting by my self on a beach, my only companions are some seagulls on the shoreline and a frigate bird gliding high above. Just pondering my 64 years on earth, thankful for everyone and everything that has come my way. Nothing clears the mind like an empty beach. Never being afraid of what is to come, just ready to take it head on.
