1. Mel Fisher's Maritime Museum - $17.50 adult ticket Mel Fisher, a well-known American treasure hunter, gained fame for his discovery of the Nuestra Señora de Atocha shipwreck in Florida waters. Within the museum, a vast collection of artifacts from 17th century shipwrecks, including the Henrietta Marie, Nuestra Señora de Atocha, and Santa Margarita, can be found. Fisher dedicated a significant portion of his life to locating the Mother Lode Treasure Ship, which was ultimately located just 35 miles off the coast of Key West. The discovery of this ship brought forth a staggering fortune of $450 million, and the search for treasure continues to this day. In 1973, Fisher unearthed silver bars from the wreckage silver coins known as "pieces of eight," gold coins, Colombian emeralds, gold, and silver artifacts, as well as 1000 silver ingots. As of today, it is reported by experts, the Atocha has not yet revealed the location of its stern castle, which contains a significant amount of gold and emeralds. Additionally, there could be an estimated 300 silver bars and 8 bronze cannons, among other items, that remain missing, or is it just not reported?

3. Pirate Museum - $18.37 per adult ticket. The experience of visiting Key West will reveal that it still maintains its pirate-ways. Key West was once the richest city in the United States per person. A law was enacted by the U.S. Congress almost two centuries ago, stating that any shipwrecks found in U.S. waters must be appraised exclusively by a U.S. court. Key West, with its shallow sandbars and one of the largest shallow reefs worldwide, became the perfect location for shipwrecks. Interestingly, the locals would intentionally turn off the lighthouse lights to attract more wrecks, which they would then salvage. Today, they have found other ways to profit, such as the city use of Arnold's Towing company, which as a 2-star rating for a reason, or Arrr the city parking enforcers or restaurant like the Thai Cuisine who charged $4.95 for iced tea for each glass. So, be cautious and have fun at the Museum. https://buff.ly/2TFZxbb
