Tips for packing your kids! 🧳

1. Decide how many outfits you need (how often you are willing/can do laundry) Check weather and plan accordingly.

2. If your kids are old enough, give them a list to plan their own outfits and have them lay them out to be checked. Each outfit should have top, bottom, underwear and socks (even if socks won’t always be used) If your kids are younger involve them in the process.

3. Roll each outfit together tightly so they fit nicely in a suitcase or if you’re packing multiple kids into a larger suitcase we like to use packing cubes.

4. Get the Extras- Swim suits and cover, Sandals, Rain-jacket, etc.

I still double check my kids stuff for the big trips like this one. (especially if it’s more than an overnight or weekend) but my 9 year old has been packing for herself for at least 2 years. I started teaching her how to pack this way when she was 5. We would sit in her room together and I would ask her to pick 5 shirts and we’d lay them on her floor or her bed, then we would pick 5 pants/shorts that matched those shirts together. Then I could have her get the socks and underwear to go with each set. Now I can write a quick list with the number of outfits, pajama sets, swim suits, and she can be fully packed without any help.

Some of my Florida trip clothing packing tips are -
-Quick drying clothes for the days we are going to theme parks with water rides (NO jeans)
-Always pack a rain jacket for Florida
-Pack a hat/and or Sunglasses
-Pack more than one swimsuit if you plan to go to the beach and swim in a pool.
- Pack Undershirts/Bra-lets to go under light colored shirts for girls if there is a chance of getting wet.
-Biker shorts for under dresses
-Comfortable walking shoes that dry quickly
