Convencido de que su idea funcionaría fue de banco en banco, rechazo tras rechazo, hasta que uno accedió. Era el banco número 305 al que había recurrido. Pero cuando intentó que la Metro Goldwin Meyer distribuyera su película sobre aquel simpático ratoncito, le dijeron que no funcionaría, porque un ratón gigante aterraría a las mujeres y nadie querría verlo.

Cuando tuvo preparada una de sus mejores películas, en 1937, realizó un preestreno ante unos universitarios, pero a la mitad se marcharon, causando su decepción. Después supo que se habían ido porque tenían que cumplir con la hora de entrada en su residencia universitaria. Aquel perseverante joven se llamaba Walter Elias Disney.

La película que los universitarios dejaron a medias era Blancanieves y el ratoncito que había dibujado en aquel tren al que llamó Mortimer, acabaría siendo conocido por "Mickey Mouse", un personaje que cambiaría el mundo. Disney creó más de 81 películas y algunos de los personajes de animación más populares de todos los tiempos.

Durante su vida recibió más de 950 reconocimientos, ganó 22 Premios Óscar y le entregaron 4 premios honoríficos. Sobre los "fracasos", Disney decía: "Todas las adversidades, problemas y obstáculos que he tenido me han fortalecido. Puede que no te des cuenta cuando sucede, pero una patada en los dientes puede ser lo mejor que te suceda en la vida".

Wednesday, October 9th:
Universal and SeaWorld: Closed, no service.
Disney: Normal operating hours in the morning with one return trip in the afternoon:
Animal Kingdom: 1:30 PM
Hollywood Studios: 1:45 PM
TTC (Magic Kingdom) & Epcot: 2:00 PM
There will be no additional returns after 2:00 pm

Thursday, October 10th:
No service.

We plan to resume normal operations on Friday, October 11th weather permit.
