Our Story

Ridge Runner Adventures is your personal guide for Off Road Adventure & Sport Touring in the Smoky, Blue Ridge and Southern Appalachian Mountains. I’ve been exploring and leading rides on the back roads, byways and forest service roads of the Appalachian Mountains for over 20 years.

My focus is on the Southern Appalachians from Georgia to Pennsylvania that encompasses two National Parks ( Great Smoky Mountains & Shenandoah), and seven National Forests (George Washington, Monongahela, Jefferson, Cherokee, Pisgah, Nantahala, and Chattahoochee).

The Appalachian’s are the worlds oldest mountains and offers the most diverse riding in the country. While the highest elevations top out under 7,000 feet, and may not offer the wide open vistas of the west, the scenery is an ever changing compilation of vistas, cool mountain streams, waterfalls, rivers, and lakes.

Over 80% of all natural species of flora and fauna found in the US can be found in the Appalachians. You can ride the same route at different times of the year and experience a completely trip each time. The vegetation is in a constant state of change of colors and smells. The purple blooms of the Mountain Laurel, the smell of Honeysuckle, and fresh cut hay are just a few of my favorites.
