Heat related illnesses are preventable. Despite this, hundreds of people in the United States are killed by extreme heat every year. Extreme heat is defined as summertime temperatures that are much hotter and/or humid than average.

Heat-related illnesses, like heat exhaustion or heat stroke, happen when the body is not able to properly cool itself. While the body normally cools itself by sweating, during extreme heat, this might not be enough. In these cases, a person’s body temperature rises faster than it can cool itself down, causing damage to the brain and other vital organs.

With extreme heat in the forecast, take time now to learn the symptoms and know what to do if you or a loved one shows signs of having a heat-related illness.

From brunch at yes please, morning coffee at old town coffee to mid afternoon beer tasting at la quinta brewing company or happy hour steals and deals at Stuft pizza! Have you been thinking about where you are going to have dinner once you arrive in the desert? One of my favorite pueblo viejo! Family run and they have restaurants in indio and palm desert. Great food and great family. 😉

What a fun time at the Indian wells resort shots in the night. So fun! Looking for something fun to do I highly recommend a trip with some friends or family to this experience. Glow golf on the range with golf balls that light up and games to play with your group. Putting green laser experience and food and beverages. For the holidays they also have a Christmas tree and ice rink. $65 for a hour up to 6 people.
