This little guy, the Unspotted Saw-Whet Owl and his buddies live among the trees by our house in Tuscany.

We tell you this because they are like no other Owl we have ever heard before.

One night B was awoken to the meows of what sounded like a kitten 🐈‍⬛ looking for its mother or need for shelter. We searched in the dark looking for the kitty so we could offer help. Unfortunately, no kitten was found. Of course, we couldn’t go back to sleep wondering about the 🐈‍⬛.

The next day we told our neighbor and they laughed while telling us about the Unspotted Saw-Whet Owl…
Apparently they have a. evenly spaced call that sounds like a cat meowing.

Mystery Solved…so happy to know that we didn’t have a kitten in need roaming the fields.

Owls are such mystical creatures. Now, we go out at night looking for them in the trees. Absolute Perfection.

If you “What is Tuscany best known for”, the answer is rolling hills, picturesque vineyards, and medieval towns.

Now that we live here in the Tuscan Region of Italy, we will 100% agree with Google.

BUT, the Heart of TUSCANY has everything to do with WINE, specifically the Chianti Classico Red wine made with the Sangiovese grape 🍇

Dreams really do come true…we will be living in Tuscany, Italy in 2024. Brigitta’s forever dream was to live in Italy for a period of time, it didn’t take much to convince Simon.

We purchased a little farmhouse in the rolling hills of Tuscany, outside of Siena, Italy 🇮🇹

We look forward to exploring more of Italy and surrounding countries in the coming year and to having friends and family come & visit. Reach out if you would like us to help you plan a trip in the coming months.

Pienza, is located high atop a hill where it dominates the Val d’Orcia Valley with extraordinary views. Pienza is located south of Siena in the Tuscan region and just a few kilometers west of Montepulciano.

Pienza offers picturesque streets where you can shop local, premium foods and wines. Pecorino cheese (cheese made from the milk of the many sheep that graze in the grasses around town), extra virgin olive oil, Vino Nobile de Montepulciano wine, truffles, chestnuts and mushrooms are authentic and delicious beyond comprehension.

Upon looking out over the walls of Pienza you will be in awe of the vast, rich green valley known as Val d’Orcia. Rolling hills, Cyprus trees, medieval castles, rows of vineyards, golden wheat fields, rural farmhouses are just some of the elements you will find in Val d’Orcia.

The most beautiful photos you see of Tuscany come from this extrodinary region.

To my surprise, I found out this morning that my Aunt & Uncle recently purchased this fairytale chateau and wedding venue not far from Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷

is an absolute dream come true. Very picturesque, from the beautiful big gardens to the stunning bedrooms there really is no bad spot for a photo at this dream wedding venue.
