The bears are out! Woke me up and I banged pots to scare this mamma bear away. You can see her look to the cabin, thank goodness she left after instead of investigating the noises, phew! Seeing how she tossed this full trash can around like a rag doll was impressive. This video was sped up a bit, she took her time trying to open our can.
We’ve seen quite a few bears in our yard, hence the name Little Bearfoot Cabin. Also, Lake Arrowhead was originally called Little Bear Valley before 1922.

Roads have not been plowed in days, upwards of 9 feet of snow in some areas of Lake Arrowhead, and feels like we are left alone on the mountain. Thankful for electricity and heat so far, amazing neighbors and community, and enjoying the beauty of the snow. But where is the help? I know the local community is doing everything they can can plowing the main roads and it’s hard with this much snow. But on a county and state level we need more help, plows, crew. @gavinnewsom @jennifersiebelnewsom Please declare a state of emergency on the state level and send resources to get our community unburied from this blizzard so everyone can be safe and have access to the food, medicine and necessary supplies.
