This week at the cottage we are welcoming a busy family who is excited to squeeze a last minute get away in before school starts. I can definitely relate to how busy things get with activity schedules. Now is a great time to catch a little more of summer 'Up North".

In our home we are thinking fall and back to school with four kiddos heading back this week. Leelanau County is a great place to enjoy a fall getaway and soak up all things fall. I love this article from the Cherry Republic that highlights top spots to see fall colors in Leelanau County.

A day at Sleeping Bear Dunes🐻❤️. It doesn't matter how many times we have been here, the kids always get excited to go to Glen Haven. Besides being beautiful there are so many great things to learn here.

Another beautiful day in Leelanau County😊🌞

Last minute reservation change and I now have July 12th (check in at 3 pm although I have some wiggle room if you wanted to arrive earlier that day) to July 15th (check out at 10 am) available. It is always a beautiful day in Lake Leelanau. I love this special area and cherish all the wonderful memories our family has made here. I know you will too! "The Narrows" of Lake Leelanau is walkable from the cottage. It is hard to pass by this beautiful view.

The Port Oneida Fair runs annually every August. This year it will be on August 12th and 13th. It is a run by the National Park Service and is like stepping back in time. The fair is held at 6 of the historic farmsteads in Port Oneida. Each farm has a variety of artists, crafts, food, and activities for visitors. There are usually animals, vendors, tables where you can learn about spinning, soap making, basket weaving, candle dripping, fur trapping, and butter making. It is a fun time to learn a little history and get to know the historic farms of the area.
