Located in the poorest section of Seminole County, DADDYS-HOME is bringing hope and opportunity to young people living in a hopeless situation, where: 9 out of 10 children are fatherless, High Crime, Teen Pregnancy, Domestic Violence, and Aids, are the
worst in Florida, health problems, school drop outs and illiteracy are the norm. We have developed and implemented a grassroots program to address these problems head on. The Youth & Family Development Program at the Center offers ongoing guidance, support and activities to youth in the community. We provide a holistic approach to impact these youth academically, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. We will help our next generation of adults become productive, responsible and caring citizens, prepared to build a better life for themselves, their families and community. Education & Career Development: Tutoring and homework help, computer software and other technology skills, assistance with Interviewing, resumes, and locating jobs, Character and Leadership Development: Provide activities to foster leadership through opportunities for youth to speak to others, express themselves and represent their group. Allow older youth to be actively involved in helping the younger ones. Health & Life Skills: Youth are provided the skills to live independently and transition to adulthood. Through preventive education, young people will avoid premature parenthood and use of Alcohol and other drug. Cultural Activities and the Arts: Provide opportunities for youth to participate in activities that promote cultural awareness through the Arts; creative, visual, performance, music, and communication. Mentors: Adults will mentor youth in one on one and group settings. Adults will interact with mentees in organized activities i.e. computer labs, homework help, field trips and class participation and recreational activities.
