Dont forget!! We are going to be having our 3rd Annual Kee Boosters Club Basketball Game against the high school boys on Sunday, November 24th at 1pm at the High School. New this year, we will be taking on the high school girls in a half time 3 point contest! There will be a 50/50 raffle during the game as well! All proceeds go to the Kee High Booster Club!

Fun Fact: The beautiful tree in the plaza that’s lighting up our town this holiday season was generously donated and decorated by one of our local non-profits in our community called InspireHer-Driftless ! 🎄

This group not only contributed the tree but also volunteered their time to string the lights, making our community extra magical this year. A huge thank you to InspireHER - Driftless for spreading holiday cheer and showing what teamwork and generosity can achieve!

🎄 Ever wonder how a huge 15’+ tree gets into the plaza? Well, here’s your lucky day! It’s all thanks to the amazing teamwork of our community.

Huge shoutout to Cooper Seed Solutions for going the extra mile—literally—to drive, load, and haul the tree to town. Huge thank you to Lansing Hardware Hank for helping us get the stand into the plaza. And a huge thank you to Welsh's Village Farm & Home for lending a hand to get the tree upright and in place with their equipment.

This is what community is all about—pulling together to lift something heavy, making it easier for everyone, and creating a little sprinkle of magic for the holiday season in our plaza. We couldn’t do it without all of you!

And if you’d like to be part of the magic, join InspireHer-Driftless this Saturday at 10 AM to help put the lights on and decorate the tree.

Needing Thanksgiving plans this year and don’t want to cook?

Look no further!

Please join us again this year for our Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

We will be serving Turkey and all of the fixings on Thanksgiving Day from 12 until 2. No reservations, and food will be first come, first serve. Water, milk, and coffee included with meal.

We will be accepting donations for Lansing Iowa Food Trust again this year as well. Last year we raised over $800 and would love to pass that this year!

A huge shoutout to The Learning Tree & VFW for teaming up with our amazing local businesses to create holiday goodie bags for all the kids visiting Santa at Light Up Lansing on Nov. 23rd! Thank you to every business that helped make this happen and to The Learning Tree and VFW for adding even more magic to this event for the kids in our community! 🎅🎁✨

Here’s the fun-filled lineup for the day:

🎄 2 PM - Head downtown to find all the hidden ELFs throughout our downtown stores!
🎄 3 PM - 4 PM - Capture the holiday spirit with a family Christmas photo by Mikayla Gavin! Enjoy a fun 10-minute mini-session; it’s first come, first served with a suggested $50 donation benefiting our local non-profits participating in Light Up Lansing.
🎄 4 PM - Santa arrives in Downtown Lansing! 🎅

We’re kicking off the holiday season by spotlighting three amazing local businesses in our community! Partnering with Serenity, Lansing Fitness, TJ Hunter's Banquet Hall, we’re excited to bring you a FREE beginner-friendly Yoga Class led by Sophie Klisz to start the day. Get all stretched out and ready for an exciting day of holiday shopping!

🎉 Exciting News for Main Street Lansing! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that Main Street Lansing has been awarded its first-ever Challenge Grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA)! This $76,000+ grant will go toward the historic restoration of Lansing Hardware, located right in the heart of Lansing’s Historic Downtown. This unique project will help revitalize five interconnected properties built between 1868-1908, each with its own rich history.

Over the years, these buildings have housed various businesses, including a funeral parlor and a jewelry store, and are currently home to Lansing Hardware & Appliance, with residences above. The restoration project will replace storefront windows across all properties, update 2nd-floor windows at 230 Main Street, and include façade repairs like tuckpointing and painting based on each property’s needs. These upgrades will not only enhance the hardware store but also bring new life to our entire downtown district.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without our accreditation as one of Iowa’s 40 Main Street communities. Out of over 27 applications, Lansing is proud to be one of only 10 towns selected for this grant!

🎃 What an incredible turnout for our downtown trick-or-treating event! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Halloween with us – it was truly spook-tacular! 👻

We had over 170 trick or treaters!!!

A HUGE thank you to all our amazing volunteers who made this night such a success. We couldn’t do it without you! Your dedication and support are what make our events possible, and we’re so grateful to be part of this incredible Lansing community. 💜
