According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on average 800,000 children younger than 18 are missing each year, or an average of 2,000 children reported missing each day.And if we break that down by state is 16,000 each year and 40 each day.

he victims of “stereotypical” kidnapping. These crimes involve someone the child does not know, or knows only slightly, who holds the child overnight, transports the child 50 miles or more, kills the child, demands ransom, or intends to keep the child permanently. This is a crime that needs to stop not only for the family of the children but for the safety of our future children and as of today there is simply not enough law enforcement or private detectives to do this.
