Back at it for my second Nevada Chukar season!

First trip out, and bagged two birds – they surprisingly taste just like chicken and made for a filling lunch. Nothing beats the thrill of the hunt and a meal earned. Here’s to more days like this! 🦅🔥

Day 3
Bright Angel Campground to North Kaibab Trailhead, North Rim
🥾 Miles: 14.52 ⛰️ Elevation Ascent: 5,958'

Upon waking this morning with severe pain in my feet, I knew this was the final leg of my Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim hike. Challenging hikes like these always demand a price, and mine was due—along with interest. As I hiked out of the canyon, there would be no cloud cover, only the relentless sun beating down on me. The hike out would be long and arduous, but it had to be done. There was no other way out except to retrace the path I had taken.

Once I completed the hike, I relished the simple fact that it was over. I hadn't just viewed one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon—I had truly experienced it.

Grand Canyon: North Rim - South Rim - North Rim
Day 2 (Part 2)
South Kaibab Trail, South Rim to Bright Angel Campground
🥾 Miles: 7.49 ⛰️ Elevation Descent: 4,860'

Reaching the top of the Bright Angel Trailhead at the South Rim, I had a moment of reflection. Last time I was here, I battled heat exhaustion, vomiting at the 3-Mile Rest House, and enduring severe cramps in my abdomen, hands, and legs for over an hour. Despite being in serious distress, I managed to hike out with the help of a soon-to-be WFR. This time, three years later, I felt I had conquered that fear.

Hiking can range from easy to moderate, but once you venture into more challenging terrain, it becomes a test of endurance and resilience. These experiences are for those who embrace suffering, risking heat illness, fatigue, or injury in remote locations far from help.

This moment marked the halfway point of my journey, and it inspired me to complete the second half. The true adventure will start tomorrow.

Bright Angel Campground to Bright Angel Trailhead, South Rim
🥾 Miles: 10.97 ⛰️ Elevation Ascent: 6,037'

Starting at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 11th, 2024, under a dark night sky, I left the campground for the South Rim, officially completing the Rim to Rim hike. But for me, this was only the halfway point, as I would still need to make my way back to the North Rim. The sky was filled with stars until the sun began to rise behind the clouds—a breathtaking moment that marked the beginning of another challenging day. This journey was unforgettable, pushing myself to the limits in one of the most incredible locations on Earth.

Day 1 (Part 2)
North Kaibab Trail to Bright Angel Campground
🥾 Miles: 17.35 ⛰️ Elevation Descent: 5,781'

Finally making it to the legendary Phantom Ranch felt like a dream come true, especially knowing that the exclusive patch I just earned is only available to those who physically journey here.
This day was brutal—both in total mileage and the punishing elevation descent. All I could think about was that I'd have to conquer this climb on my last day. Yet, as the beauty of the Grand Canyon surrounded me, I found myself so mesmerized that those worries melted away.
Setting up camp amid the wildlife made the experience even more surreal.

North Kaibab Trail to Bright Angel Campground

Starting at 3:00am, Saturday, August 10th, 2024, I embarked on an unforgettable journey down the North Kaibab Trail into unfamiliar territory. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon was a new adventure for me, and the experience did not disappoint.

From bridge crossings over the Bright Angel Creek which I would eventually follow to the magical moment at Ribbon Falls, this trek was filled with both challenges and awe-inspiring beauty.

Here's to exploring your unknown and finding wonder in every step.

**June 16th, 2024**

Reaching the summit of Mt. Whitney is an indescribable feeling. Yet, it’s only halfway. Hiking these immense peaks is a personal test of character. I’m willing to push myself to the limits to achieve a goal, but I understand that staying at the top is temporary. The descent is inevitable, a price to pay for the summit's glory.

This journey taxed not only my hiking partner and me on that day but lingered for days after. Despite the pain and endurance required, the accomplishment will be cherished forever.

I am incredibly proud, amazed, and still in awe that conquered the summit of the highest mountain in the contiguous United States. Completing approximately 23 miles with a staggering 6,600' of elevation gain, all on his second-ever attempt at hiking any mountain, and he achieved Mt. Whitney.

Sharing this experience with you has been an unforgettable honor.

June 1st, 2024: Mt. Whitney

Attempted to summit the highest mountain in the contiguous U.S. with a new hiking partner & friend. Though we didn’t reach the summit, the journey was unforgettable. Facing the 1,200-foot snow chute was a challenge I had never tackled before, but sharing this experience made it worthwhile.

We often fixate on the end result, but this trip reminded me that the journey matters too. Despite not summiting, I felt more comfortable in the mountains than ever, guiding a new hiker on their first snowy adventure.

These moments fuel my passion for hiking. It’s not just about reaching the peak but knowing when to turn back for safety. The true summit was the growth and connection we experienced. Looking forward to more adventures and welcoming new friends into the Wolfpack. 🏔️✨

May 28th, 2024 - Attempting on Mt. Whitney

Training has begun with less than a month before I attempt to summit Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States. It has defeated me more times then I have summited. I definitely have to work out some nerves because mountain snow has always been a weakness with my hiking skills.

AllTrails data marks it as a 21.2 mile trail with 6,663 of elevation gain with an average hike time of 13 hours.
