It’s sunflower season in Lawrence, Kansas. The fields at Grinter Farms (featured in the reel) are on track to bloom around Labor Day, and their shop Sunflower General is already open daily from 9-5 for the next three weeks. There, you will find the cutest sunflower merch, this year’s t-shirt design, and fresh baked cinnamon rolls. Yum. You can find Sunflower General at 14755 243rd Street. South of Lawrence, the fields of Hunsinger Sunflower Patch are already in bloom and so beautiful! Hunsinger invites you to cut the flowers for $2 a head. Find it at 923 E 1450 Rd. Both farms are free and open to the public during daylight hours, but please consider leaving a donation for the farmers if you are able. They work hard every year to bring us the dreamiest Kansas experience imaginable. 🌻#unmistakablylawrence #lawrenceks #tothestarsks
Careful, there’s a shark in the water. 🦈 Stop by one of the funkiest bars around this week to help them celebrate their birthday. The annual Sandbar Block Party is a great way to end the summer with a bang, and it’s happening this weekend on Friday AND Saturday nights. Catch some great live music acts, visit the beer garden, or order the Shark Attack cocktail at the bar, a crowd favorite since 2003. And yes, you can keep the shark.
Don’t miss the Holiday Farmers Market this Saturday! 🎁 9 AM - 4 PM under the pavilion at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
