FINAL 1:03 p.m.: Both directions of I-90 are now open with chains required on all vehicles except AWD/4WD. Please be cautious as snow is continuing to fall. Be sure to adhere to the traction requirements, slow down, and be prepared and have supplies as closures can come with little warning.
UPDATE 12:43 p.m.: Westbound I-90 is open, with chains required on all vehicles except AWD/4WD. Still a 1 p.m. ETA for eastbound reopening.
UPDATE 12:32 p.m.: Both directions of I-90 are estimated to reopen at 1 p.m. Expect chains to be required.
UPDATE Noon: The estimate for opening westbound I-90 is 1 p.m. This is just an estimate. There is still no estimate for when eastbound may reopen.
UPDATE 11:23 a.m.: BOTH directions of I-90 are now CLOSED between Denny Creek (milepost 47) and Easton (milepost 70) due to multiple spinouts. There is no estimate for when the highway will reopen. For other east-west routes, traction tires are required on US 12 White Pass and advised on US 2 Stevens Pass.
UPDATE 10:44 a.m.: Eastbound I-90 is now CLOSED near Tinkam Road at milepost 47 due to multiple spin outs. There is no estimated time for reopening.
Snow continues to fall in our mountain passes and chains are currently required on all vehicles except those with AWD/4WD on Snoqualmie Pass. Traction tires are required on Stevens and White passes, with chains required on vehicles over 10,000 gross vehicle weight. Please comply with the traction requirements and slow down.
