I hear one of my winery faves, Hunters Run, is calling it a career... what an awesome run... They've been the standard-bearer for how to run a winery for years and years.... Those guys do it right... All good things come to an end, and while I'm sad to see them go, I'm very glad to have known them, and worked with them... Amazing successful team, those guys are so awesome...

Do you know this guy? He's the one and only Pete Lapp, one of the favorites on the northern VA winery circuit... It's like who's who of great wineries in the area where he plays... And when we (Girls Night Out) have groups out doing wine tours, we try to stop by places he's playing at whenever possible...

So today's his birthday...Gotta give it up for him! Can't wait for better weather, Pete, it's always fun catching one of your shows!

1) Virginia Trail Ride and Wine Tour - Seasonal (not in snow!)

Start your day with a trail ride! Enjoy majestic mountain views, as trails wind along the property. You'll encounter streams, hills, wide open fields, and forests as you meander along. The tour is 90 minutes, and will require about another 30 minutes of preparation, etc.
You'll be "sized" for your horse, given some basic instructions, and led along the way by a trained guide.

Just thought I'd pass on some comments from one of this past weekend's tours.. Starting our 18th year doing Bachelorette Parties, Winery Tours, Brew Pub Tours, and Girls Day/Night Out events, trust your event to us and we'll help you plan it, and make it happen...

We had a great experience with Girls Night Out! We booked a VIP Wine Tasting trip for a bachelorette party, and it couldn't have worked out better. Our driver was on time and professional, and he kept us on schedule without being pushy. The three wineries that GNO selected were WillowCroft, Hunters Run, and 8 Chains North. All of them had delicious wines, and the people who worked there were knowledgeable and friendly. Even lunch was great - way more food than I anticipated. I would highly recommend this company!

Hey there, fans of GNO! Hope you're all enduring the weather well... it's cold, but we're getting close to the spring... and with that comes wedding season. And with that comes winery tour & bachelorette party season... We're looking for a few good folks to help us out on Saturdays, both wine tour guides, and "Party Concierge" guys for our nighttime gigs... A brief explanation:

1) Wine Tour Guides - these are folks we entrust our Wine Tours to. Your duties are extensive, but it's a fun, easy-going atmosphere, with groups that are mostly comprised of girls celebrating a Bachelorette Party. or just doing a wine tour. Looking for folks with more than a modicum of experience in the wine experience in NOVA... some things we expect:
a) Be able to provide some entertaining "tour guide" info along the way, if it's welcome...
b) be able to conduct a "Tasting Class" after learning our particulars.... simple, yet well-received info that goes well with the tour
c) oversee tastings.. coordinate with winery staff... where do they want us? ensure the groups are ready, with tasting notes, pens, etc...
d) remind groups of the expected decorum, etc. enforce this if necessary... the meek need not apply! we need our groups to be well behaved, received, and appreciated...
e) photographers - take MANY shots, only of our groups, or the scenery... point & shoot, get LOTS of pics...
f) ODAA - (Other duties as assigned).

2) Party Concierge (night groups)

Need primarily guys for this... It's the way it is... some expected duties:

a) Be "the guy" for any/all party needs...
b) be able to entertain and keep entertained groups of girls...
c) have control of your hormones... gotta behave... No exceptions...
d) dance if asked... don't ask, but dance if asked... be a passable dancer...
e) coordinate with bar/door staff our entry deals... make sure this is set up beforehand...
f) be able to sense when it's time to go, or stay, depending on how things are going...
g) have at least a rudimentary knowledge of DC streets, bars, etc... You WILL be quizzed...
h) be a nice guy... no "hounding" for phone numbers, etc... You're there to protect groups, not to make them worry who's gonna protect them from you...
I) be fun...

think you got the juice to handle either of these? let us know... we've got spots for both... Not looking for someone to work EVERY Saturday day/night, just occasionally, or when requested (this happens a lot IF you do a good job!)...
