MARS PIRATE RADIO

TONIGHT, Saturday July 28th at 8:00 PM EDT, Episode 142 of MPR will feature the first half of my July 16th interview with J. Neil Schulman. During this interview we discuss THE FRACTAL MAN, his newest SF novel. We also discuss at some length, the concept of the multiverse that is an important part feature of the novel, and how this concept fits into Schulman’s personal experience. It is quite a spirited discussion and I think you will enjoy it. Below is a link to Mars Pirate Radio.

Online now! This week, MPR will feature a biographical sketch of aviatrix Jerrie Cobb. At the time, the most famous female pilot since Amelia Earhart, Jerrie Cobb was a member of the Mercury 13, a group of women who undertook testing and astronaut training, only to see the program killed by then Vice-President Lyndon Johnson with a terse note: “Let’s stop this now!” In 1962, Cobb was called to testify at a Congressional hearing on the subject of women in the space program. Astronaut John Glenn, whom one would imagine to be a cheerleader for a fellow pilot, stated at the hearing "men go off and fight the wars and fly the airplanes, and women are not astronauts because of our social order.” Only a few months later, the Soviet Union would send Valentina Tereshkova into space. To hear the rest of the story, tune in to tonight’s program.
