Kids Cook! Winter 2024 Class Schedule

There are currently no Kids Cook! classes or series scheduled for Winter 2024. In early 2024 we will be focusing on continuing to develop our community service project, Kids Cookin’ for a Cause!

Kids Cookin’ for a Cause! is a program in which kids cook and bake for hungry Arkansans. Kids Cook! developed the program to benefit Potluck Food Rescue. Potluck distributes food to children and adults living with food insecurity in Central Arkansas.

Since November 2008, over 1,300 kids, ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade from 17 schools, churches and community organizations have participated in this project. They have produced an estimated 13,000 pounds of food, enough for over 20,000 meals and snacks for hungry Arkansans.

We plan to begin scheduling these events early in 2024. Check back here or at www.kidscookarkansas.com for updates.

THANK YOU to all of you who supported our cookie sale to benefit Potluck Food Rescue yesterday - our student bakers, our kid assistants, our adult assistants, Eggshells Kitchen Company and all of you who purchased cookies. Your generosity will provide 300 meals for those served by Potluck.

Not familiar with Potluck? Potluck Food Rescue….
-- is the only organization dedicated solely to food rescue and food waste in Arkansas.
--handles mostly perishable goods. This makes them unique from traditional food banks.
--supplements food bank offerings, which are typically canned and dry goods, with fresh foods.
--has been doing this for more than 30 years!

Every year, Potluck rescues millions of pounds of a wide variety of healthy food that would otherwise be thrown away, saving it for those who need it the most and diverting it from the landfill. Rescued food is distributed free of charge to a large and growing network of nonprofit community food programs or composted when it is inedible.
