Wow, this is interesting.

A series of unusual remains found in the Mexican cave date back to 3000 years. In Avendaños Cave in Mexico, a baby skeleton, the lower half of a man with his feet tied, and a 2000-year-old American parrot mummy were found. The finding may provide insight into the trade between the present Southwest USA and Mexico.
In 2016, a rancher who lived about 480 km south of the Texas border was building his property. His goal was to fix a cave, so he brought about the project workers and a bulldozer. However, they did not have any idea that they were ready to uncover a gold mine from the archaeological point of view. The farm owner stopped construction, took pictures of the findings and sent them to archaeologist Emiliano Gallaga, director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History. G The first thing we noticed was the extremely well-preserved head of an American parrot. ”
Naturally, this embalmed parrot came to light after being buried for thousands of years. The green of its feathers was still bright and the keratin beak was still intact.
Now, two years after the discovery, this embalmed parrot was dated 800 years older than other examples in the region, and gave clues about trade and religion in the late Archaic society.

Good Morning 🌤 Here are a few updates and reminders for you this morning:
1️⃣ The boil water💧 notice has been lifted - residents no longer have to boil their water
2️⃣ The Town recognizes that we have many residents without transportation due their vehicles being flooded. We have been working with Sarasota County Government Breeze Transit and they will be offering the following Trolley service here on the island:
🚍Starting today, 10/4 and will run through Sunday, 10/6
🚍Hours of operation 7AM-7PM
🚍Will continually pickup/drop off along Gulf of Mexico Drive between Broadway Street and Bay Isles Parkway
🚍Give the trolley a nice big 👋wave and they will stop🛑 for you
🚍This is to enable those most impacted, to access basic needs ( Publix & CVS Pharmacy )
3️⃣ 🚗Entry/Exit to the island remains only through the south end via New Pass Bridge - please allow additional drive time due to traffic delays
4️⃣ Since we no longer need to boil water, the Town has shut down the Neighborhood Point of Distribution location in Publix parking lot. However, we still have a few 💙Comfort Station locations open if you need to beat the heat, get a bottled water, and charge your devices. 5️⃣ Construction🛠 activities for storm damage repair work has been approved to occur from 7am through 7pm daily, through October 31, 2024, to allow maximum efficiency in restoring safe, livable structures
6️⃣ Be prepared for the additional rain 🌧expected this weekend. The Town has a self-serving sand bag station open at the Broadway Beach Access. If you need additional bags, please visit our Public Works Department at 600 General Harris Street.
