Do you have well earned and loved "tiger stripes"? I do after having two babies in my mid-to-late 30s. I'm not ashamed of them, however I do like to look and feel my best in my own skin and I think most mamas do. So I created this quick tip video to share with you all about some natural solutions I have used to fade, shrink and reduce my own "tiger stripes". I hope to one day have a space and opportunity to teach a Fertility Awareness class for young girls (this has been on my heart for a while). I'm always amazed by the lack of knowledge most women have about their cycles and fertility. It's time for a change. Great read. What do you think?

Weaning at 5 or 6 years old. Wow! I thought we were stellar for making it to the 2 year mark.

New Study: Ultrasound Causes Brain Damage in Fetuses.

Personally, I have been concerned about this for years. All the while, trying to process the "no worries, it fine..." attitude from the medical community in regard to excessive use of ultrasound during pregnancies. Sometimes you just need to trust your gut.

Routine ultrasound, long assumed safe, is shown in this study to cause severe neurological damage.

It's heartbreaking as more details come to light today about Miriam Carey, the woman killed by Capitol Police yesterday after a high-speed chase through Washington.

The family is claiming that she suffered from PP Depression. Did you suffer postpartum depression? If so, how did you work through it or overcome it?

I suffered from PPD for nearly a year after my little one was born. AND during my experience I realized we (as a community of moms and birth workers) must do better to support new moms not only through preconception, pregnancy and birth but well into the postpartum period.

My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the Carey family and the sweet baby girl taken along for the ride yesterday. So thankful she is safe and sound but sadden she is now motherless. ;(

What Time Do You Put Your Kid(s) to Bed?

Please share what works for you and yours?

"I'm of the mindset that whatever works for your family works!" --- I couldn't agree more!

We put our little guy down between 930-11:00p depending on how late his evening nap was. Daddy works later hours, usually getting home around 8p.

Why this works best for OUR family:

Jett excitedly runs down the hall to the elevator to greet his Daddy every evening when my husband arrives home.

Then we have dinner followed by rough-housing and bath time with Daddy, which naturally pushes us to a later bedtime than most families.

Our little guy keeps our schedule and sleeps-in until 9am and some days 10am! Now you're jealous, right?

He usually wakes up just in time to tell daddy bye for the day with a big family hug! Weekends are the best because we all sleep-in!

OUR schedule allows us to have LOTS of family time everyday and that's super important to us!

Some of us parents watch the clock, and when it strikes a certain time, the kids must be in bed. Others, well, don't follow schedules at all. Wha...
