Exciting news for travelers! Suica and Pasmo cards will be available again starting Sunday, September 1st. 🎉
Starting September 1st, Suica and Pasmo transport cards will be back on sale! 🎉
After a long wait, JR East and Tokyo Metro have confirmed that registered Suica and Pasmo cards will be available again from next month. These handy IC cards were suspended last year due to a global semiconductor shortage, but now you can get your hands on them again.
What's a registered card? It's a card linked to your name and phone number, which is super helpful if you lose it—you can easily cancel the old card and transfer your balance to a new one. The process is quick and easy right at the point of purchase.
For our foreign friends, the unique Welcome Suica cards will also be available again at major stations like Tokyo and Shibuya. Previously, they were only available at Narita and Haneda airports.Exciting news for travelers! Suica and Pasmo cards will be available again starting Sunday, September 1st. 🎉
