Fun Fact Friday! 💡

Located in downtown Louisville, what many know as the Old Spaghetti Factory building, was originally named the Levy Bros department store. 🏰

Built in 1893, the five-story building was one of the first in the city to have electricity and was designed by prominent architect Arthur Loomis and his partner Charles Clarke. 🏗️ It was once lined with hundreds of lights to attract customers, popularizing the local phrase “lit up like Levy’s.” ✨

Fun Fact Friday! 💡

Did you know that Louisville was once the top manufacturer of disco balls in the country? 🪩

In fact, during disco’s heyday in the 1970s, local manufacturers made up to 90% of the United States’ supply. 🕺🏽 The original patent was filed by a Kentuckian in 1917 as the “myriad reflector” and is now the namesake of Louisville’s Myriad Hotel. 🏨

While out exploring Louisville, keep your eyes peeled for more disco balls at places like Red Tree, Work the Metal, and Woman-Owned Wallet. 🛍️🪩
