4 Paws Pet Training would like to officially welcome Haegan to the team! Haegan is a 3 month old hound adopted from Kentucky Humane Society. Although Katy has been working on socializing and small training skills over the last 3 weeks, he starts his first formal class this week. Group puppy classes, including proper off leash play, are very important for proper socialization of puppies. Over the next 2 years Haegan will be training to be another working dog for Katy, with the ability to be a rock solid neutral dog, demo dog and socializer. He will also be learning dog sports for fun and eventually replacing Ayla as Katys main working dog.

Only 5 more wake ups untill the best day of the year! It's pugtoberfest 2017!!!!!! 4 Paws Pet Training will be there with both my working pugs and Sully the Pekinese. I will also be doing a small agility demonstration (jumps and tunnels only) and a nosework demo. We will have CGC, CGCA, CGCU and all levels of AKC trick dog testing. We will also have an opportunity to introduce your dog to scentwork for just $1. Prices for AKC testing will be our lowest of the year and a portion of all test fees and scentwork donations will be donated to Kentuckiana Pug Rescue.

Lastly for the "Meet the Staff" posts is our Head Trainer, Katy. Pictured here with a former foster dog, Katy has been training professionally for 5 years. She is a Canine Good Citizen evaluator, a supporting member of IAABC and a former member of APDT. She is currently finishing up her application for certification through IAABC. Katy trains using science based, positive reinforcement training methods. She loves that the main part of her job is figuring out a training plan that will work for each individual dog and more importantly the whole family. You will often hear her say "I don't care how well your dog listens to me. I'm not taking him home, so he needs to be able to work for you." If you want to get the process started for helping your dog be better behaved, send us an email to [email protected] and we will discuss your training needs.
