Will you be lucky enough to spot a fawn?!?!

It is "fawn o'clock" at and you might get the chance to see one of these cuties curled up in the woods near the house. They like to find a cozy spot at the edge of the tree line in the backyard... if you see a fawn all alone, don't worry! Mama deer will forage during the day and return to feed their fawns when it is safe in the evening and early morning.

DID YOU KNOW... Calvert Cliffs has a hilly 2 mile hike to get to the beach? It is a gorgeous trail, but sometimes difficult for those with mobility issues or with small children. If you're looking for another option...
About a 15 minute drive from Southern MD Waffle House 1.5 acres of cozy coastal living, and bordering Calvert Cliffs on the north side, Flag Ponds is a perfect spot to hunt for fossils and enjoy a day on the bay. Our kids love that the hike is only about a half mile with not many hills to the water. With a nature center and lots of shoreline for fun in the sun, it is a definite must see during your visit to Southern MD!

Why waffles?! Here's how it started: our son and his grandpa have a special bond and they call themselves "The Waffle Bros". They love making Belgian waffles in the morning when they are on vacation together- it's about spending those early quiet hours doing something warm and cozy together that makes the day feel extra special.

That's why I'm thankful for waffles. They have become a tradition in my family & we want to offer this homey ritual to our guests so they too can make slow-down-and-enjoy kitchen memories. A pouch of waffle mix is in every welcome basket, just heat up the waffle iron for a big batch of happiness.❤

The proximity of the Chesapeake Bay is the #1 reason we chose the Lusby/Solomon's Island area for our Airbnb. Our home is a short 2 minute drive to the nearest private community beach on the bay. In southern Maryland, you can enjoy beautiful sandy beaches without the crowds- quiet connection with the gorgeous waterways and millions of years of history at your fingertips.
