Relax and recharge! Just sit and look out over Lake Superior at our new river valley bench. At least for me, there is no other place than the Minnesota's North Shore to bring solitude for the soul.

We are working to create many areas (along our Lakeshore Trail) for you to enjoy the many massive views of the Lake... this is a newer one between Building 560 and Building 570. This looks right over the Poplar River valley and the confluence of Lake Superior.

Building 560 at Poplar River Condos is owned by two families that live and work in Minnesota. But we need local support. So these Condos are managed by Cascade Vacation Rentals based out of Lutsen, MN.

Cascade Vacation Rentals provides local 24 hour assistance and an easy to use website for availability for booking your next trip up to the North Shore! They also have great front desk associates (tammy and jenny) if you just want to pick up the phone and dial in for your reservation (877-415-8974 ext 1.). But please note that each building within the Poplar River Condos group is owned by different families - so improvements in each condo and views do vary by building.

Does Poplar River Condos at Lutsen have the only on property Nature Trail?

We have 1.15 miles (will soon be expanded) of hiking / nature / ledgerock / beach trails.

We will refine the Trail Map and are in progress of installing Trail Signs to show you the way!

45 mile distance of the Lutsen 99er Mountain Bike race complete! However, with all the pushing through the mud - this might not be considered an actual bike race? Just glad i finished (as i hate mud)!

99er Update!!! Email from Lutsen 99er

We’re excited to let you know that the Life Time Lutsen 99er presented by Visit Cook County is on!

Last Tuesday, the Lutsen and Cook County area received an extraordinary amount of rain and multiple areas of the course were affected by suspected tornadoes. Our crew has been hard at work, both evaluating the course and clearing downed trees.

Course Updates:
The 29er, 45er and 69er courses will be unchanged.

The 99er course, which includes the Timber Frear loop, has an insurmountable number of trees down, and the logging area on the Wringer Road has been turned into an impassable, muddy quagmire. The 99er course was stunningly beautiful and we were excited for you to experience it - so we're already planning those opportunities for next year!

This weekend, 99ers will now be taking on the 69er course. This course is fun, challenging, and fantastic, and will provide you a great experience.

Aid Station Updates:
Drop bags for those registered for the 99er will now be available at the FR350/Sawbill Aid Station (mile ~47).
Updated aid station cut-offs:
• 11:30AM | Rice Lake/ATV Trail
• 2:15PM | FR350/Sawbill Trail
• 4:30PM | Onion River Road
Awards & Qualifier Information:
Those registered for the 69er:
• Athletes will be racing their fellow 69ers for awards. You will not be able to change to the 99er.
Those registered for the 99er:
• Athletes will be racing their fellow 99ers for awards and Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB presented by Kenetik qualifier coins.
• If you are registered for the 99er and finish the race (now shortened) you will be eligible for both merit-based Leadville coins and the drawing for the additional coins.


Updates to the website and Athlete Guide are underway to reflect the course change.

We have faced multiple challenges in recent years (pandemics, rain, bridges rendered unsafe, fire, venue change, more rain, tornadoes) and we are so fortunate to call Cook County and its residents, our family.

They continue to amaze us with their resilience and dedication to providing you, the participants, with the best possible experience.

When the description of 'Waterfront Condo' isn't enough...

Poplar River Condos is bordered by the Poplar River on our West side. The 'front' of our property is continuous walk able / scramble ledge rock situated between two beaches.

NOTE: We are working this summer to provide easier access to both beach locations!
