Bold Coast Yoga Samantha, E-RYT 500 Offering 200-hour YTT, classes, and workshops to support optimal well being I've been practicing for 17 years and counting.

Offering 200 and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training, workshops, and classes on the Bold Coast of Maine. My classes emphasize my philosophy: "Be kind and present in all you do." I believe that when we are fully present in our bodies, fully present in this very moment, that presence opens us up to the spiritual. I have also learned the importance of self-compassion, and emphasize ways to practice kindne

ss toward one's self. My background includes personal training and corrective exercise, which allow me to teach the asanas (physical poses of yoga) both creatively, and safely. My style is a mix of gentle-yet-challenging, alternating focus between the breath, our experience in the pose, and our alignment. I believe that yoga is for every body, it's just a matter of finding a style that suits you. I'm an E-RYT 500, and Bold Coast Yoga is a RYS 200 and 300, so completing our 200 or 300 hour training will allow you to register with Yoga Alliance. I'm also a Mom, and my daughters are among my favorite teachers, as is my fiance.

4 weeks from today is one of my favorite days of the year- Day 1 of the Bold Coast Yoga 200 hour teacher training! I love hearing what brings people to deepen their practices and potentially share yoga with others.

I’m pleased to share there will be two spaces opening soon for the online 200 hour Yoga Twacher Training in June! (This is a go-at-your-own pace online only program, the next group session begins September 30).

I’m not currently offering classes on skis, however, you can catch me on Zoom Tuesdays and Thursdays and at Cobscook Institute two Saturdays a month!

Ah, this is an interesting time of year as I celebrate one round of 200 hour yoga students graduating, and prepare to welcome the next round on October 1st. So much potential and excitement in the air! I’ll tell you more about a recent graduate tomorrow, who has big news for Calais! 😁

I’m also reflecting that last year I started 100 days in a row wearing this dress, and posting a little something about it ever day. Another recent graduate shared how she appreciated that, and it’s got me thinking about doing 100 days of something again.

Soaking up these late summer days, and looking forward to kicking off this fall’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, with the opportunity to join in person, or on Zoom!

It’s such a joy to share this program DownEast. We delve into the “why” behind the “what” of what makes a yoga practice, yoga. The Yamas, basic anatomy, plus the energetically of the doshas and chakras give us plenty to cover.

One of our topics in Restore this week is to prioritize rest & sleep. Your body can focus on restoring when you are resting. Even taking a 1 minute pause can serve as a reset to support mental health, and release tension in the body. Child’s pose, shown below, can be a way to incorporate rest into your yoga practice.

You may have heard of sleep hygiene, which means having an environment and a daily routine that promote consistent sleep and minimize interruptions. Skipping screen time for 30-60 minutes or more before bed can help, as screens produce blue light that can interfere with melatonin production. "Blue blocker" glasses can also help. FAQ's about the Restore Program- Registration closes tomorrow!

❓Is it online or in person?
There are three options:
1. You can take any class online at a time that works for you.
2. You can Zoom in "live" into any class.
3. One class each week is offered in person on Wednesdays during the program at Cobscook Institute in the Conference Room. Just reach out to be sure I have enough space.

❓I want to do this, but my next few weeks are pretty busy. Can I join in September?
Every class and session is recorded, so I would recommend joining now, and starting the program when you are ready. I hope to offer it again in 2023, but as I teach Personal Wellness for the University of Maine Machias in the fall, I don’t expect to have the time to run this again in 2022.

❓I have “bad balance” and/or “I’m not flexible,” can I still join in?
Yes! We’ll work on improving balance, and mobility.

❓Can I sign up anytime?
Sorry, but no. Registration closes on Sunday, July 31st at midnight.

❓Are you still doing Yoga Teacher Trainings?
Yes! The next 200 hour kicks off October 1st, 2022, or you can enroll in the online at-your-own pace program anytime before the end of the year.
