That’s a wrap! Back on dry land after 5 nights aboard the Scarlet Lady- the brand new ship on only its SECOND trip by Virgin Voyages. I’m not even sure where to begin other than to say, if you’ve ever considered a cruise, this is the one you need to be on. The ship is STUNNING! My top three:

🍱 The best food I have ever eaten in my life- every meal, even the quick service pizza, was an experience.
💁 The service was impeccable. Luxury without stuffiness- win win!
🏖 Richard Branson’s private beach club stop was impeccable. I’m possibly ruined for any other beach or pool for the rest of my life.

I truly can’t wait to share more but for now- jump on it while the sailings are only half full, and they’re offering great onboard credits. We learned the ship inside and out this week, so I’d love to help guide you through choosing the best cabin and dinner spots!

You heard it here first! Fast passes are gone- you will now have the option to use Disney Genie+, which will be similar to the MaxPass in Disneyland. For an additional $15 per ticket per day at Walt Disney World, and $20 per ticket per day at Disneyland, you’ll be able to choose from a variety of “next available” attractions and enter a shorter Lightning Lane. Honestly, I’m thrilled- the extra cost is a factor, I know- but I used the MaxPass service in Disneyland a few years ago and it’s FABULOUS! What do you think?

HEADS UP! Today is National Pinot Noir Day! This is not a drill- make sure you celebrate 😉

Have you ever been to the Epcot Food & Wine Festival? This is truly a favorite event of mine at Disney’s Epcot- I only wish I could eat more! One of my favorite wine tastings was in Germany, but if the snacks are more your style, I think you’ll be covered here.

Pro tip- make it your meal! These snacks are affordable and will most definitely fill you up. Dates will vary, but typically run from mid July- November. I try to plan my trips around this these days!

Happy birthday to the one and only Harry Potter! If you have older kids and haven’t been to Universal Studios, put it in your list! This is an easy park to navigate for a quick trip- it IS possible to get it all in over just a few days and save some 💵

Happy birthday to my very favorite coaster in the Disney parks! I love everything about this ride- it doesn’t get any better than rocking out to Aerosmith while you fly through the dark. The wait time for this ride can get a little long, and more of the line is outdoors than other rides, so for me this is one that I rush to ride early. What about you? Is this on your Hollywood Studios must do list?

A Disney Cruise is definitely a slower paced vacation than a visit to one of the theme parks and is quite relaxing. If you want to take that relaxation vibe up a notch, Senses Spa & Salon has just what you need.

Located on every ship in the Disney fleet, they offer services like:
Massages
Facials
Hair & Nail Treatments
Teeth Whitening
A Rainforest Room
and just about anything else you can think of.
I admit that I'm not a frequenter of spas at home, but you'd better believe I wouldn't skip this on a Disney cruise!

Is splurging for a spa treatment your idea of vacation or would you rather spend money on something else?

HOCUS POCUS and the Sanderson sisters flew into our lives on an enchanted broomstick and ran amuck, amuck, amuck on this day in 1993. Yes, in July. 🤷

I have to admit that I didn't know this movie had such a cult following until recently- I do remember watching it and of course coveting Vinessa Shaw's amazing hair, but I'm pretty sure I shelved it for many years. Recently I've added it to my fall rotation and my girls love it.

The wicked sisters seemed to come back to life (again) with the debut of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in 2015. And there is a movie sequel in the works!

Happy 66th birthday Disneyland! This park is affectionately know as “Walt’s Park”. Have you ever been?

I frequented Disneyland as a young child, but hasn’t been back in years until recently. I admit I was a skeptic, wondering how it could possibly compare to my beloved Walt Disney World. One visit and I was sold- Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure are located directly across from each other, you can leave one and be in the other within five minutes. These parks are jam packed with nostalgia- if you’re a little overwhelmed at the size of Walt Disney World in Orlando, this might be the trip for you!

Camera ears first but you better believe I finished every bite of the chili shrimp bowl at Satu’li’s Canteen in Animal Kingdom. This is the best quick service I’ve ever had!

Good morning from beautiful Animal Kingdom! We rope dropped (arriving before park opening) at Avatar: Flight of Passage this morning and it’s not as hard as it may seem. The line does look intense but it’s very organized and moves so quickly. Here’s a timeline of how we did it:

🌳 7:00: Hop on the bus at our resort

🌳 7:20 At the entrance of Animal Kingdom with no lines, the gates are already open. When you enter the park, go to the left!

🌳 7:25: We are at the entrance of the land of Pandora- they’ll stop you here until around 30 minutes before park opening.

🌳 7:30: Rope Drop! The crowd will move and be formed into a more organized line.

🌳 7:40: At the entrance of the Valley of Mo’Ara, it is not uncommon for the line to back up over the bridge into Lion King- don’t be nervous! It moves SO quickly as they organize everyone.

🌳 7:45: We are at the entrance of the ride queue! The standby time is 75 from the end of the line

🌳 8:20: We are on the ride and we never stopped moving!

All in all, we waited in a true “line” for only 45 minutes- so if you’re wondering if it’s worth it to Rope Drop, the answer is YES! 👏

My day is perfectly complete! It was my must do this trip to catch fireworks while riding on the Skyliner. We had absolutely perfect timing- not only did we catch them on our ride, we had a magical view of the finale from Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Rise of the Resistance, WORTH IT! This ride is full of surprises. I went in blind after avoiding spoilers for almost a year. The virtual queue is something you really need to understand in order to snag it, and Darby and I are 22 for 22 in sending our tips!!!

🍦 Dole Whip fans, have you tried the Lime Parfait? I am a huge fan of anything lime flavored and this cutie will make you pucker up! P.S. that little Mickey watermelon lollipop was the single best bite of watermelon I’ve ever tasted!

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort for arrivals beginning Sept. 16

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort for arrivals beginning Dec. 9

This means that all Walt Disney World Resort hotels will be open by the end of 2021. This also opens up capacity for fall trips where resort dates were previously fully booked!

Do you know about Hidden Mickeys? We learned about these on our first family trip, and nearly 20 years later, I find a new one every time.

Some are more obvious, and some are quite tricky. This is another little tip I keep in my back pocket if someone in your party gets hangry- I mean, needs a little boost- during your adventure.

Where is your favorite hidden Mickey? My favorite is the plate arrangement on the buffet table during the Haunted Mansion dinner party- it’s a classic!

Happy Birthday to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover! 46 years old and still a fan favorite.

Oh, how I love those blue vinyl seats. I think the PeopleMover is the absolute best way to close out Tomorrowland- incredible park views and it's the only peaceful way to see Space Mountain!

The PeopleMover actually just re-opened after a lengthy closure and with all the new themed merchandise available, it looks like it’s thankfully here to stay.
