Yard Sale This Sat in Mantee
Wanted to thank everyone for coming this past Sat to our yard sale. But it is not over. We still have a lot of stuff left and we are carrying over to this Sat for another day of yard sales. Come on out and see us in the building across from city hall in Mantee.
We have everything set up for the indoor yard sale in the morning. We have A LOT of Christmas stuff, a lot of dishes,plates and stuff, some furniture, and an asortment of other things (a tool or two, kitchen stuff, cast iron,..) Everything will go cheap, whatever is left after lunch will be cheaper. Somethings when we are getting ready to call it a day, will be free. Whatever is left will be donated somewhere or taken somewhere else. It won't be going home with me. So ya'll come out and see what we have. We will be in Mantee across from city hall. There will be signs out.
Looks like we will be having a yard sale this Sat in Mantee from 6am til whenever. Don't worry too much about the weather. This will be an indoor yard sale. We will be set up in the old silly whispers building in Mantee. That is the building at the 3way stop, across the road from city hall.
Most everything will be items that came out storage units that we bought. There will be a lot of Christmas items, plateware, some furniture, and a lot of other things. It will definitely be worth stopping and taking a look thru.
During the day, there will be times where the deal will be to take a bag and fill it up with certain items. Everything you can fit in a bag will be one price. So come one out and see what you can find.

Thanks to everyone that came out to the yard sale. It was great. Now most of the stuff that didn't sell is heading either to the trash or to Palmer's Home.
Don't forget----- HUGE YARD SALE in Mantee, tomorrow morning, beginning at 7 a.m. We have TONS OF STUFF we desperately need to GET RID OF, so things will be CHEAP! Just follow the signs, we will not be hard to find.
We are planning to have a yard sale this Saturday in Mantee @ 7am. Most everything that we currently have from storage units will be there. We will be about 100 yards from the 15 and 46 intersection. We have LOTS OF STUFF to pick from! We're still thinking and planning about some fun ways to set things up to sell --- I think a "bag sale" (whatever you can fit into a shopping bag for one low price) has been mentioned. COME CHECK IT OUT!!!
Some were wondering since we haven't posted in a while. Yes, we are still in the business of buying storage units. However, Things got pretty busy during the holidays and January was catching up time. With property tax and a tank full of gas for the house, we had to use all of our storage unit money + some that we didn't have. So things are pretty tight right now. We have already lost blood circulation since things are so tight. We do have a lot of things for sale right now. A lot of furniture and such. We hope to get some things ready soon for a yard sale of for ebay or for the sale lists here on fb. If you need anything before then, just ask and we can let you know if we have one. This we found in a $20 unit in Philadelphia when we first started doing storage wars. We have already made over 3 times our money back on that unit.
Since we have been buying storage units, there has not been the BIG one yet. No big payoff. Maybe in Florida or California, but not in MS. So nearly a year and not rich yet. Most people in MS just pay rent on their storage units to store their garbage. Go figure.

When the prices are driven high, then those of us who are trying to provide these items at greatly reduced prices to the public can't afford to buy the units, thus prices of everything goes up. Nobody wins.
One problem that I have noticed over the past few months is the number of people getting into buying storage units. Here is the problem. The way is has been working is that we buy units, dig through the rat p**p, spiders, dirty clothes, left over food, dead people, and artificial limbs to get the good stuff that we can then turn around and sale for a cheep price to everyone else. Those of us in this business try to buy a unit for a price that we can double our money back, or it is just not worth buying it. Now here comes all the other people who watch the shows and think they can get rich quick and they drive the price way up. Folks it is not worth paying $300 for a unit, do all of the work, do all of the cleaning, just to get a $10 profit. You look at what you can see, determine the value, then bid half of that. You make your money back plus that much in profit.
We were wanting to have a yard sale this Sat, but the time is just not there with everything that is going on. We have a lot of Christmas stuff that we're hoping to have ready. We also have a lot of furniture.
We have been to a couple of sales that we didn't get anything. Then we attended a sale here in Starkville and we got one unit. Then I bought a large unit and the contents of a house from someone. We have not been able to go though most of this stuff or the unit we got in Starkville. So no pics yet.
Hello folks. I know it has been a while since our last post. A lot has been going on and we haven't been able to do a whole lot with storage units. Tammy had her sinus surgery, we've had a lot of functions going on, me and the kids came down sick, then Tammy had to have a sleep study for her restless legs. I'm afraid that all of this medical stuff is about to take all of my storage unit money, but we'll see.
Also, we are getting ready this week for Tammy to have surgery. So a busy week.
We bought a portable building. Just something small that we can use to store some of this while getting it ready to sell. We are getting it ready to move. We are being real picky about any units we buy right now because of no where to put it.
The yard sale went great. It would have been better but everybody else and their brother was having a yard sale as well. And of course there was Prairie Arts. But all in all, it wasn't bad.

We have not had time to takes pictures of the items from this last unit, but we have a round wooden table, coffee table, two end tables with glass tops, and other items.

Here is a contest. Everyone knows that the weirdest or creepyiest thing we have found in a stroage unit has been the prosthetic leg. Well, after Tupelo this past Sat the leg is not even on the list anymore. What is the weirdest or creepyiest thing you can think of that might be found in a storage unit? Can you guess what we found?
Well we went to Tupelo Sat. and ended with one unit. Nothing big...just weird and creepy.
Saterday we a few units in Tupelo and Batesville. We will see if we have better luck there.
We got into it with a female Dave. Dave is from the Storage Wars tv show and this was a female version. She refused to back down. She even tried to use Dave's trick of playing down the unit on us. Well we didn't back down either. We stayed in it until it was no longer profitable for us to stay in the bid. She got the units, but she didn't get them cheap.
Well we looked at 22 units all together in Jackson. We learn that the quality of goods are a little better in Jackson. However, there is too much competition with people who have a shop right around the corner. They can sell items near retail there and can bid higher on the units. We came home empty handed, but with a full belly.
Well, off to Jackson. The number of units has been cut down to about 23. Come on folks, either pay your bill or don't. Don't tease me then pay up.
