Good morning! We are sure enjoying this light drizzle out here from the porch of the Mrs. Judy cabin. Our sweatpants feel a little more cozy and our coffee tastes a little richer. The slight chill in the mornings remind us that fall is just around the corner and we will be wrapping up our 2024 season. We have a couple more dates available, get your bookings in now.

Bly and I have been hard at it getting everything ready for our 2024 season. It is such a big help at 11, he knows how to run the heavy equipment and understands all of my hand signals. It saves me so much time not having to get in and out of the machine. 
Spring is our busiest season. We’re always fighting the temperamental elements of our weather this time of year, while working to get the property back in tip top shape before the busy season. On another note who’s ready for glamping season?
We have exciting things going on around here! We have been taking full advantage of the beautiful weather working outside. The rain today has put a damper on things. So it’s back inside the shop to work on this Boho backdrop, I’ve decided to create. You can never have too many irons in the fire.

It’s wild to think back to this day just three short years ago we broke ground on Elk Ridge. We have been up and running for two seasons now, prepping for our third. I can’t thank everyone enough who had a helping hand in making our dreams a reality. Also to all of our guests who have passed through and kept Elk Ridge alive. We appreciate all of you! Sure was a beautiful evening here on Elk Ridge. I was able to capture this one before the fog completely set in.
We are all set up and ready to go for the expo tomorrow. I am beyond ecstatic to be a part of this group of local, amazingly, talented individuals who share the same passion I do. During set up, I had the privilege of meeting several local vendors, who were all amazing. I am really looking forward to tomorrow’s expo and for what the future holds for Elk Ridge.
It’s a beautiful morning here on Elk Ridge. It almost feels like a heat wave out here now that we’ve reached -5°. We are so grateful for hardy animals and good feed. All the cow elk are in this morning waiting their turn for a nibble. We are now up to just about 3 feet of snow. For all of you that have to travel the roads today, be safe out there.
I put together a partial mock setup for the expo this coming Saturday at the fairgrounds. Our theme is country chic. Be sure to swing by and say hi!

🍂it’s the first day of fall and we are feeling it here on Elk Ridge along with all of our guests. These cool early evening are bring out all the warm filled extra friendly hearts, along with campfires and the changing of the leaves 🍁 although we are sad to say goodbye to our busy season, we welcome the change.
Good morning! It sure was a beautiful evening here on Elk Ridge last night. It was calm, quiet and all the colors of the sunset we able to come through with our smoke free skies. We want to say a huge thank you to all of the firefighter and operators who have been out here busting their butts, working around the clock to get these fires that are too close to home contained. With out y’all we would have lost our property that we enjoy so much. We can’t thank y’all enough!
Meet Quigley! The newest member of Elk Ridge Cabins. She is already earning her keep, greeting all of the guests and leaning the routine of daily chores.
Our huckleberries are plentiful this year! I have so many guests who ask what a huckleberry is. I love how they grow right outside of the wall tents so I’m able to show them and let them try some.
We hope y’all had a great time celebrating Independence Day! We love our family traditions around here.

Good morning from Montana! How do you like to spend your mornings? Well, here on Elk Ridge, I don’t always choose to spend my mornings on the tailgate in subzero temperatures walking the boys but when I do, I make sure to parade them down Main Street. We love having the elk come in and enjoy watching them but when the temperatures start dipping down below zero they get relentless and cause havoc on the property. At -30° they get chilled and with 3 feet of snow it’s hard to find a meal, so they are always sneaking in the pasture, and our boys always allow the elk to eat with them instead of chasing them off. However, when they get spooked, they are not always so graceful and break through the fences. So of course the boys follow. It may be tough this time of year on people and animals, but this is the life we choose to live, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. #montana #troublemaker #mendingfences #ranchlife #onedayatatime #january

I named the property Elk Ridge for good reason! I love watching them come in and enjoy them out in the field but not when they crap all over the nice lawn lol.
With all the snow it was just too wet to get any landscaping done around the property yesterday. So I loaded the dogs up and we set out for Montana’s high country. This trail head is only 27.2 miles from the cabins and it over looks GNP but is located outside of the park. For any of our guest who are looking to explore this area outside of the park we have so many hiking trails that I can give you great insight on.
Currently we’re still buried in snow out here but spring it on it’s way and everything is starting to melt off. Who else is ready for some warm weather and glamping?
Happy winter solstice from all of us here at Elk Ridge! With these subzero temps the ladies are pressuring our boys for a snack. Stay warm out there and be kind to one another.
