It may be a little premature to start burning with all the snow we still have and how wet the deadfall is. Although open burn started on the first, and I just can’t help myself to get a jumpstart on things around. We’re so excited to kickoff the 2025 season. Frank is trying his darndest to help with the cleanup efforts.

A glimpse behind the scene. I’m constantly coming and going around the property. Doing flips, stocking the shower houses and maintaining the landscaping. Usually after everyone is out exploring for the day. But I am never alone.

We hope that y’all are keeping warm and staying safe out there. We are up to 15 inches of snow and this is our third day without power. We’ve lost multiple trees around the property, but nothing has been damaged. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it starts to warm up a touch and lightens the load on the trees.

As the 2024 season comes to an end, the 2025 bookings are rolling in.

We have multiple locations on the property to suit everybody’s needs and comfort level.

This cabin is Grinnell. Grinnell is our more luxurious cabin. The cabin sleeps six, is fully equipped, and has Wi-Fi.

Good morning! We are sure enjoying this light drizzle out here from the porch of the Mrs. Judy cabin. Our sweatpants feel a little more cozy and our coffee tastes a little richer. The slight chill in the mornings remind us that fall is just around the corner and we will be wrapping up our 2024 season. We have a couple more dates available, get your bookings in now.

Bly and I have been hard at it getting everything ready for our 2024 season. It is such a big help at 11, he knows how to run the heavy equipment and understands all of my hand signals. It saves me so much time not having to get in and out of the machine.

We have exciting things going on around here! We have been taking full advantage of the beautiful weather working outside. The rain today has put a damper on things. So it’s back inside the shop to work on this Boho backdrop, I’ve decided to create. You can never have too many irons in the fire.

Good morning from Montana! How do you like to spend your mornings? Well, here on Elk Ridge, I don’t always choose to spend my mornings on the tailgate in subzero temperatures walking the boys but when I do, I make sure to parade them down Main Street. We love having the elk come in and enjoy watching them but when the temperatures start dipping down below zero they get relentless and cause havoc on the property. At -30° they get chilled and with 3 feet of snow it’s hard to find a meal, so they are always sneaking in the pasture, and our boys always allow the elk to eat with them instead of chasing them off. However, when they get spooked, they are not always so graceful and break through the fences. So of course the boys follow. It may be tough this time of year on people and animals, but this is the life we choose to live, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. #montana #troublemaker #mendingfences #ranchlife #onedayatatime #january
