Our Story
Welcome!! So glad you dropped by! I am Wendi Moody, and first, a little about what I do!
I love outdoor photography with soft, flattering natural light. I like an airy, light look with a very romantic and personal appeal. I don't shoot in a studio, I go on location, or can recommend beautiful settings for you.
And now, a little about this lady behind the lens!
* I love Jesus, and I can count all of the blessings He has brought into my life including meeting you!
* I have worked for many years as a social worker. I love people and their unique and beautiful personalities. What better way to celebrate this; being there to document lovely people in their authentic lives with those they love most!
* In a world that gets more "impersonal" all of the time, I truly value genuine face-to-face interactions. There is a good chance we will be life-long friends!
* I am the blessed mother of three great kids, and the lucky wife of one of the kindest men I have ever known. It is because of his love and support that I am here, fulfilling a dream. And it's because of that love that I truly enjoy seeing it in others as well.
* I am a proud ISU Cyclone alumni, and my oldest son is n ISU grad as well. Our other two daughters are a freshman and a junior at ISU. We are season ticket holders for football and basketball and often travel wherever the bowl games take us in December, and enjoy going to KC for the Big 12 Tournament in March. You could say we’re obsessed ;)
* I was raised an Iowa country girl - that lifestyle is “home” to me and I am forever grateful to have been given all the gifts that came of that. Currently, I live on a farm in rural Maxwell, Iowa and in addition to raising crops, we run a small herd of Simmental and Sim-Angus cows. Our family raises a few feeder calves for beef customers, and we raise and market purebred seedstock. We hope to continue to grow and improve our seedstock operation, it really is one of our passions! Our two daughters exhibited cattle at local, state and national shows through 4-H, junior livestock programs and open divisions. We love the stock show life, but with both of us working full-time jobs not directly related to the cattle, we weave this into the busy tapestry of our lives as much as we possibly can!
* Obviously, I am a little bit country - I especially adore classic country music! But...I am also a little bit "citified"/ rock-n-roll. I have attended more concerts than I can remember. I dig a good music trivia challenge!
* Speaking of "citified", I love fashion; especially shoes & jewelry. Though I love my cowboy boots, I also love a great pair of heels or a cool pair or fun sneaks. HUGE fan of vintage and unique turquoise/ Native American jewelry. The Fed Ex dude knows all about this too ;)
* There is nothing sweeter than good conversation with great company and a glass of wine...but this simple gal will also take a red beer any day! (these days, more than one can sometimes put me to sleep! Ha!)
* I am a chips and salsa addict. And, I could eat some kind of Italian food for every meal.
* While we are admitting addictions - let's add Diet Pepsi to the list. Tried to give it up - failed. Trying again!
* I have a very distinguishable voice - never been able to fool anyone on the phone! And with that comes a very boisterous "cackle" of a laugh. I am not afraid to let 'er rip, and I do it quite often because humor is mandatory in this life! :) I hope when we meet, I get to hear your laugh!
* I have always hated having my picture taken. It's been a problem ever since I can remember. I do not want anyone else to feel that way or miss very important opportunities to document their lives. My goal is for you to enjoy the fun experience we will have and even more so, LOVE the way you look in your photos! I love, love LOVE taking photographs and I hope this is evident to you form the first snap of the shutter!
MY PHILOSOPHY:
I treasure capturing very real, sincere interactions in outdoor photos with dreamy natural lighting. I prefer to get to know you so that you are comfortable with me and with being in front of my camera. I take the privilege of being there for your life moments very seriously, but we will have a good time in the process.
LET'S CONNECT:
I would love to hear from you, so send an email or facebook message and let's get connected. I look forward to working with you to put together your unique experience, and delivering timeless images for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.
