MENDOCINO OPEN PAINT OUT - A Plein Air Festival
September 17-23, 2018

Admission to all events is free and open to the public

The sixth annual Mendocino Open Paint Out (MOPO) starts today with an exhibition of paintings by the featured artists - MOPO co-founder John Hewitt, Wendy Brayton, Ellen Howard, Suzi Marquess Long and Will Maller. The gallery is open today 10am-5pm.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21:
* Watch the artists paint en plein air all day.
* Shop daily wet paint sales with new paintings each day by 68 artists from throughout California, as well as Idaho, Illinois, Nevada and Oregon.
* Attend featured artist demonstrations, September 18-21, at 2pm, and September 18-20, at 7pm. Donations requested.
* Join us for festive and social evening gatherings. Meet and mingle with the artists, Tuesday-Thursday, 5pm to 7pm. Food and drink available by donation.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21
* 7pm-9pm: People’s Choice Party. See all the paintings created during the week and vote for YOUR favorite painting. Last year more than 400 paintings were created throughout the week. Refreshments.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22:
* 11am-1pm: Watch a Quick Draw Competition (location will be announced at MAC and on this page September 22, at 10:30am).
* 2pm-4pm: View all Quick Draw art and vote for your favorite entry for the Viewer’s Choice Award.
* 4pm-6pm: Attend the celebratory MOPO awards reception. Enjoy wine and appetizers and be here for the presentation of 30 awards.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23:
* 10am-5pm: Last chance to buy your favorite 2018 Mendocino Open Paint Out painting!
