The kids requested donuts from our grocery store run this morning 🍩 so I made a cute little 6 pack assortment from the bakery case … and then I saw them, the GRINCH themed Krispy Kreme 6 pack & I HAD to get them 🥹
So I came home with 12 donuts (I couldn’t put the others back in the case & who wants to be *that* person who leaves a mess for someone else to deal with 🥸) & obviously I’m everyone’s favorite mom today 💁🏼♀️
We might not be doing the Grinch Breakfast at Universal 🌎 or the pajama brunch with Mickey & Friends at Disneyland 🏰 but I’m pretty sure the kids are just as happy 🩷🍩🎄

80’s gamer kids - you know who you are! Us kids gathered around the NES during a family gathering, just waiting for the older kids to run out of lives so you could get a chance to be Mario. (It’s so wild how The Mario Bros has evolved — tho I will forever be a fan of the original tanuki leaf Mario 🦝 3️⃣ and much prefer hoarding lives by the 100s & playing FOREVER).
Visiting Super Nintendo Land at Universal Studios Hollywood was surreal - I’m talking nostalgia to the ma###x. So naturally, we had to buy & try a number of things at the Toadstool Cafe!
The entire meal was themed appropriately. 🍄 I’m no food blogger but here’s a simple review:
We started with Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots - little mushroom shaped carb pillows, fresh out of the oven brushed with garlic butter & sprinkled with parmesan. They were delightful.
I opted for the Luigi Burger - grilled chicken, green pepper & spinach with basil pesto on a brioche bun (compete with Luigi hat & grilled on mustache) and a side of truffle fries. It tasted as cute as it looked.
Our friend ordered Bowser’s Fireball Challenge - a one pound spicy meatball topped with mozzarella served with mushroom marinara sauce, a Bowser puff pastry (seriously soooo ridiculously cute), and a side of hot sauce. Talk about heat 🔥 But also, definitely great as a fry dipping sauce if you like spice!
Leaving without dessert just seemed wrong, so we ordered 2!
The Question Block Tiramisu comes surrounded by 6 “❓”-printed cookies & is not only an iconic part of the Mario theme, but creamy & not overpowering. As a sober person, I’m not a huge fan of the boozier tiramisus so this was perfect.
