It's so nice to come out on the deck each morning and have a cup of coffee or afternoon drink while watching the sun set over the water. Before, we sat on some inherited, pretty beat up patio chairs, but over the weekend, we put together these beautiful Adirondack deck chairs. They are all-weather so we can leave them out all year long and they are soooo comfy. I got the extra wide ones that sit a little higher so a little easier for our older guests and good conversation!

Our last renter Bramble and Bleu wasin town cheering on her son and friends at Gore Mountain for the USSS U-18 Eastern finals thanks to all the snow we’ve been getting! ⛷️🎿

The boys seemed to have a ball playing pool 🎱, making pizzas in our kitchen🍕,soaking in the hot tub after a long day of competing, playing Monopoly 🎲and relaxing by the fire!

Now this is new to me, but check out the pic where they even dug several feet down in the snow to build a bonfire on the frozen solid pond! 🔥❄️Apparently this is a thing. Who knew!? 🤣

I mentioned in my last post that our last guests were in town for a wedding. I just HAD to show you the wedding cake one of them made and decorated in our new kitchen for the bride!! They chose our place on account of our large kitchen and island (and giant fridge that can hold a 3 tiered wedding cake! lol) Aren't the little skiers adorable? So creative! The crowd favorite is the little guy upside down in the snow! Didn't she do an incredible job?!?

A recent guest booked our cabin for her daughter, 2 year old grandson and a handful of other family members who were attending a nearby wedding. Like all good Grandmas, she got a ton of pics with her adorable grandson and couldn’t resist sending us a few! We were delighted to see he enjoyed all the toys we have, little and big! 🤣The last pic is my absolute fave. This little boy couldn’t be any cuter with his curls and pacifier, all snuggled up in this gigantic bed as his Grandma tucks him in for a nap!! 🥰😍

Day 2 of our Family Reunion: We spent time playing with cousins outdoors, reading cozily by the fire, hiking (and seeing a beaver dam!), napping and then playing Scrabble with the best homemade pumpkin pie I've ever had! It's been a great day!

We are getting some wonderful weather this week as a nice surprise before it turns truly into Fall. I don't know about you, but I think that calls for some ice cream at Main Street Ice Cream Parlor in Chestertown! Their ice cream is so delicious, and adorably served in these vintage glass ice cream dishes, but they also serve breakfast and lunch. When you're done, take a peak at the little shop upstairs!

If you wander down Main Street in North Creek, you will find the most incredible mosaic project. Not only is it awe-inspiring, but it was truly a community project. Local artist Kate Hartley of H’Art Studios organized the donation, collection and creation of this installation with over 2,000 local volunteers including many school aged children. You can visit the mosaic and also stop into H’Art Studios to purchase artwork or take a class!

While exploring the nearby acreage, our caretaker Ronnie pointed out an old abandoned cabin. While it looks interesting and remote from the outside, the inside is the stuff of horror movies.

It looks as though someone literally just walked away *or died* and left all their things behind.

Apparently, the story goes that the old owner was the mayor at one time. He passed away, but his living son cannot bear to remove any of his belongings, leaving everything just as it was. It's clearly been ransacked over the years, but there are still curtains, tables, and even the piano left behind! I can't decide if this is really sweet or a bit Norman Bates??

I didn’t know what to expect when we went to the Chestertown Farmers Market on Wednesday. Sometimes the markets are a little small and not worth a stop but this one is really nice! They had so many vendors— including FRESH seafood. Have you ever seen that at a Farmers Market?!? I was blown away.

We tried some delicious local honey and award winning cheese from Nettle Meadow & The Kemp Sanctuary . Did you know Nettle Farms has a farm dedicated to rescued goats, sheep and other animals that you can visit? Yep, that’s on the to-do list now! 🐑🐐🐥

For lunch, there are a few food trucks and food vendors. Scott and Kennedy chose Jamaican (so good!) and I had a delicious pick-your-own salad from the Salad Bar with all their own farm fresh ingredients while we listened to the live band.
After, we strolled down their Main Street and browsed in the antique stores. Such a nice day!

A BIG thank you to the staff at Revolution Rail for a fantastic experience this weekend! If you have not done the rail bikes across the Hudson River in , you must! From beginning to end, the guides were humorous, telling interesting stories about the area, and offering to take pictures of us. My parents are older but we still managed just fine. We had so much fun pedaling along the with such beautiful views. It was so peaceful and a good leg workout! 🤣 Of all the things we did this weekend, my parents, who are in their 80's, said this was the highlight of their weekend and unlike anything they had ever done! ❤️

I've always wanted a pool table so when we bought our cabin, I knew right where it was going to go. We bought a slightly-used-but-in-great-shape pool table and had it refinished in a modern tan felt by Devine's Billiards in Queensbury. They did an incredible job! The wood from the table coordinates perfectly with the coffered ceiling and hardwood floors but my favorite part of the room are the reproduction Bar globes we added from with light fixture sconces from . They provide the perfect ambiance at night when we come home from a day of skiing and gather to play a game of pool!
