It’s time to take a trip back in time to 1981 and experience a day in the life of an illustrator. Our guide will be this nifty book I found today called “A Day In The Life Of An Illustrator”. I actually have another book from this series called “A Day In The Life Of A Rock Musician” which is a real trip but we’ll save that one for another day. I’ll skip around in the book a little bit so I don’t have to scan all 32 pages but you’ll get the idea.

Today is the fifth Saturday of the eighth month of the year and you know what that means. It’s time for another Sanford & Steve before and after montage! Cue the dramatic music!

Here we have a lovely mahogany desk that was not so lovely when I found it. The finish was worn out, the leather top was painted red and it was in bad need of a shave. A little paint stripper, a new finish, some custom drawer pulls and it’s ready for its turn on the catwalk.
