Elizabeth City State University announces a remarkable 23% increase in the number of first-time freshmen enrolled for the Fall 2024 semester. The freshman class has surged to 427 students, up from 347 in Fall 2023, making it the largest freshman class since 2012.

With nearly 70% of the incoming class coming from North Carolina, most come from northeastern and central North Carolina counties including Pasquotank, Hertford, Mecklenburg, Wake, Forsyth, Guilford, Bertie, Durham, Beaufort, and Nash.

ECSU has been awarded a $125,000 grant from the second phase of the Lumina Foundation’s (LF) Adult Learner Initiative (ALI) to support adult learners. According to the Lumina Foundation’s website, the foundation partners with education and business leaders, civil rights organizations, policymakers and individuals who want to reimagine how and where learning occurs. The current goal of Lumina is to ensure 60% of adults will have a college degree, certificate, industry certification, or other credential of value by 2025.

While we highly appreciate Catlin Clark's remarkable abilities, it is essential to acknowledge that Raven Johnson's defensive prowess was a significant factor in the outcome of the tournament. We believe that this experience has been a learning opportunity for all the players involved, and we now look forward to moving on from the past and playing basketball with the utmost sportsmanship.

South Carolina's impressive display of skill and determination has raised the bar for all WBB collegiate teams. To keep up with the competition, coaches and players must take proactive measures to improve their gameplay and strategy. South Carolina dominated the season with being undefeated, Dawn Staley and SC are on an INSANE 37-0 run in 2023-24‼️HOW will the other teams respond to their elite showcase of collegiate WBB?
