Hamilton Pool Preserve!

Hamilton Pool Preserve is a historic swimming hole located in Texas. Hamilton Creek spills out over limestone outcroppings to create a 50 foot waterfall as it plunges into the head of a steep box canyon. The waterfall never completely dries up, but in dry times it does slow to a trickle.

Although currently closed due to dangerous conditions caused by falling rocks, this is a beautiful must see destination!

Let's talk road trips!

Here are 5 tips for planning your next road trip!

1. This may seem obvious, but pick a destination! Where will the road take you?
2. Choose a route! There are often different routes that can lead to different adventures along the way. Which path will you choose?
3. Plan stops along the way! Remember a road trip isn't just about the destination, it is also about the adventure along the way! Plan for necessary stops but also the fun and unique ones!
4. Check you vehicle. If you are planning a long road trip it is a good idea to take your vehicle to a mechanic before the trip to make sure that everything is ok before you hit the road.
5. Bring plenty of entertainment! Make sure that everyone has things to keep them busy during longer drives. This helps make the trip more enjoyable for everyone!

Haleakalā National Park!

This National Park contains one of two volcanoes that make up the island of Maui. Haleakalā is estimated to be around 1 million years old. The summit tops out at 10,023 ft and this volcano is one of the three tallest mountains on earth! It also holds the world record for climbing to the highest elevation in the shortest distance- in only 38 miles!

The view from the top of the summit is breathtaking! As you stand here you are actually ABOVE the clouds! Watching sunrise or sunset from the top of Haleakalā should be on everyone's agenda when visiting Maui!

Puerto Rico is home to 3 of the only 5 Bioluminescent Bays (Bio Bays) in the World! Not only that, but here you will find the brightest Bio Bay in the World, Mosquito Bay!

A Bio Bay is a body of water in which the organisms emit light when movement is created in the water. Hard to imagine? Well picture pixies for fireflies swimming around you as you swim through the water!

Puerto Rico is a small island located between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. This tiny island measures only 100 miles long by 35 miles wide!

Although small Puerto Rico has so much to offer! The island is home to 36 natural reserves, 19 state forests, over 300 beaches, and 4 smaller islands. Here you will also find the only tropical rainforest in the National Park System.

Of course if you are looking for some of the most beautiful beaches in the World Puerto Rico has that covered, but you can also explore cave systems, tropical and dry forests, salt flats, historic old towns, and more on this beautiful island!

Located in Peru, Machu Picchu is one of those unbelievable that is on most people's bucket list! Machu Picchu, built over 500 years ago, is evidence of the urban Inca Empire at the peak of its power and achievement. Although there is still uncertainty as to why this amazing site was created, it is clear that the engineering here was beyond it's time!

It's ! Today's Tip is an easy one -- pack an empty water bottle!

I always have water with me, so this is a something I always do! First of all, an empty water bottle will make it through security at the airport...then you can fill it up inside the airport at a water filling station! While you are traveling, buy a gallon of water to fill up your bottle instead of water bottles. Not only will you be saving money but you are also doing your part to keep our Earth clean!
