Hi everyone, I have gotten a few calls / messages this week about the website. Our website is down because of a server change error. We basically have to rebuild it. So sorry! Trying to update things with new trips and photos of some of this year's experiences and it backed them up instead! Gotta love technology, especially when it deletes 13 months of data and content!

We are working to get the site back up and when it is, we will have announcements about St Lucia for later this year, a Caribbean Cruise, Mexico, Sicily and Southern Italy for 2025, and ....the big one....Africa!

Just saw another acquaintance that "launched a travel business" with no certifications, no training, and no professional licensing posting about her exciting new side hustle.

This is a reminder to please ASK QUESTIONS!
1. Do they have IATA certification?
2. Do they belong to ASTA?
3. What training have they had? How often are they doing more training to stay up to date.
4. Are they working with an experienced mentor with more than 15 minutes as a travel advisor?
5. Are they CTA or CTC certified?
6. Ask if they have an E and O policy in place (if they don't know what this is, RUN)
7. Have they been to the destination you are wanting to visit? If not, do they have contacts there?

I am not trying to crush anyone's dreams and I know you want to give a friend business, but these things are important!

Would you let your friend who was always good at math do your taxes instead of a professional accountant?

Would you let your friend who's always been artsy cut your hair...after she watched a YouTube video?

Would you let your friend who has watched lots of law and order defend you in court?

I know that you're thinking, "I can book my own travel online". So what's the big deal? The first time you get stuck somewhere and you can't get home because of flight cancellations or you have a serious medical issue while travelling, you will need the experience of a PROFESSIONAL TRAVEL ADVISOR, not a friend who is simply booking to feed their travel addiction. There are, unfortunately, lots of companies that will let you "launch your travel business today" for $50 a month and give no training or accountability. I just want all of my friends to be aware of the right questions to ask to get a true professional.

I am a CTA (certified travel advisor) by the Travel Institute.

Our agency has had IATA certification for 10 years.

We are ASTA members.

I have 20+ years in the travel industry, 10+ owning my own companies and have 5 advisors working for me who have constant access to training and to me.

None of us have been everywhere but I have been to close to 500 resorts in over 50 countries. If I have not been where you want to go and I don't have really good contacts there, I will refer you to a friend who has or does!

I am ok if you don't use my services, but PLEASE do use an actual travel professional.

Certain things just make your home feel like Christmas. This was my Mom's village. My Dad had the whole thing hand made for her by a local shop a few years before she passed away and it was her pride and joy. She took great care every year with the skating rink, the villagers, and the little trees. It was a thing of beauty.
It's a tradition that I have carried on (a challenge with our cats sometimes). It does not truly feel like Christmas until Nana's village is up. This year it's under the tree. Last year, it was above the front door on the shelf. Placement changes but it's always done with love and care and a lot of fond memories of the most beautiful woman I ever knew. ♥️ What Christmas or Hanukkah traditions do you carry forward? I would love to know.

I have to have a procedure in a couple of weeks and a sweet friend sent me this amazing gift yesterday! I did not know about this company. sends gifts for all different occasions and customizes them. Since we here at STW are all about customization, you know I am impressed!!
This had one of my favorite soups, Mac n cheese, 6 rolls, 6 chocolate cookies, a beautiful soup ladl, a cozy blanket and a microwavable hot pack with a soft, fuzzy cover. 😋

I was flipping through tiktok the other day, rabbitholing like we all do 😁 and this guy started talking about how women sabotage ourselves every morning and start every day with a negative self image that men dont so we are less confident. Now, at first, my reaction was defensive. Who is this dude telling us women.....then I listened.
He went on to say, "You look in ten time magnifying mirrors looking at every flaw, wrinkle, and stray gray hair. When have you seen men do that? And that is what YOU see of yourself in your head all day"
Wow! Did I mention I was flipping through tiktok while doing my makeup...with my magnifying mirror that hangs on my wall? Busted. He was 100% right. We start everyday thinking about that dry skin or that blemish. Lord knows, I start everyday thinking about the bags unders my eyes.
His message was pretty simple. Noone has a 10x magnifier walking around all day. Noone is seeing your pores, that barely noticeable pimple, or one stray gray hair. In my defense, I need my mirror because my eyes are not as good as they used to be so, even with my contacts, I need a little help to put make up on. I will try to use the 5x side and try to not be so hard on myself.
There is only one you and you are f@ #$ing perfect just the way you are. I just wanted you to know that today! So stop judging yourself. Anyone worth having in your life won't so why would you tolerate it from yourself?!
