Costa Rica 🇨🇷

Last week I had the chance to visit Costa Rica with a wonderful group of travel advisors! We toured and stayed at multiple lodges on the Caribbean side. This trip was a nature lovers dream!

A few of the highlights from the trip included:

🐢Watching a Green Marine Turtle lay her eggs on the beach in Tortuguero
🚤 Taking a boat ride, and separate kayak tour, through Tortuguero National Park to see some of Costa Rica’s wildlife
☕️ An educational and entertaining coffee tour - I learned I will never be a master brewer, I don’t have the necessary skills to taste
🌊 White Water Rafting on a Class 3 rapid
🐸 Two night walks with a tour guide to see nocturnal frogs, snakes and mammals
🦥 Seeing sloths, toucans, and multiple species of monkeys which included a 5am howler monkeys wake up each morning

This was my first time visiting Costa Rica, but it definitely won’t be my last! Next on my list is to visit Arenal and Monteverde.

I just returned from a trip with my husband so it's time to start planning (hopefully not just daydreaming about) my next trip!

These are a few of the trips I personally want to take next.

In regards to a river cruise, I am currently working on putting together two different River Cruise group trips for next summer (July and/or August). If you are interested in learning more about the group cruises (likely back to back weeks - one on Viking and one on AMA Waterways), please consider filling out the interest form in the comments! I mentioned traveling with friends earlier today. I didn't want to leave out my best friend though - my husband! We are celebrating 13 years married and 20 years together today!

We have been able to travel together throughout the last 20 years, but I can confidently say that I think we are entering a {new} travel ERA for us as a couple, as well as our family! And, I couldn't be more excited!

Whether it be networking with other professionals in the travel industry, or getting a new referral, I get to meet new people every day! Many of those introductions have turned into strong bonds and everlasting friendships!

I adore my family, but there is just something about traveling with friends!

Did you know I can also book hotel stays at all major hotel chains?! Either for personal or work travel.

I just booked a 1 night stay in Philadelphia for a last minute work trip this week. It was one less thing my client had to worry about and the best part - they are still able to get their hotel loyalty points, while supporting me!

🚢 Cruise Term : ten•der

A tender port is a seaport where a large cruise ship uses smaller boats, called tenders, to transport passengers to and from shore. This process is called tendering.

Today we tendered in Bar Harbor, Maine. In addition to tendering, we also had to go through immigrations on the ship before we could get off.

🇫🇷 2024 SUMMER OLYMPICS - in PARIS 🇫🇷

It's Opening Ceremony Day and it's going to be one like we've never seen before! For the first time in Olympic history, the opening ceremony and parade of athletes is going to take place on - the Seine. How cool is that!! I know I would love to be there to experience it in person!

Canada Ports 🇨🇦

Halifax - This was our first Canadain port. We chose to do one of the cruise excursions and visited Peggy’s Cove. Unfortunately, we had a very overcast and rainy day.

Sydney - This was our second stop. We chose to skip an excursion and instead explored on our own. We started at Tim Horton’s and then headed to the grocery store to get some Canadian snacks for the kids - ketchup potato chips and candy’s

Charlottetown - This was our last Canadian port, but our favorite! The town had a lot of charm and history. We ended our visit with some classic POUTINE from Beavertails

We’ve had a great time so far this week! I even think we have finally learned our way around the ship! 🙃

Looking for the best travel experience? The earlier you book, the more opportunities you'll have available. It can be hard to know what your schedule is going to look like in a year, but booking early can be a huge benefit! It allows you to lock in a lower rate, have a longer payment window, and have first pick of resorts, rooms, and excursions.

Many travel itineraries can be confirmed with a small deposit, that is {sometimes} refundable, if your plans change!

There's only 1️⃣ good way to escape weather you don't like - TRAVEL!

For me, it's summer and the heat. I love living in Virginia, but the summers are brutal. We haven't been able to break 90 degree temperatures with humidity. So... the only option, book a last minute cruise to Canada and New England!

My husband and I are escaping the extra hot temperatures for {slightly} cooler ones this week. We will be sailing on the Emerald Princess to Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown and Bar Harbor! Follow along!

During the cruise we will be celebrating my birthday, as well as our 13th Wedding Anniversary (a few days early).

Exploring another Omni resort! Spending a night at the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport before heading out tomorrow on my next adventure!

Today has been all about relaxation. 🛁

This morning I visited the Warm Springs Pools (about a 10 min. shuttle ride from the resort). My visit included a 50 min. soak in one of the two mineral bathhouses.

The baths have rich history, dating back centuries. The bathhouses are fed by four natural warm springs and are rich in mineral content. The water stays a constant 98.6 degrees. The 15 minerals found in the springs promote relaxation and relieve pain.

I can confirm that the experience provided both of those for me.

I then spent the afternoon lounging in the resort spa’s Serenity Garden before my 50 min massage. What a great day!
