Did you know that Centerburg is the middle of the to Erie Trail's 326-mile state-wide trail!?!? And in the heart of Centerburg is More Space at Your Place. Local trail and outdoor enthusiast, Katie Hux, is happy to welcome cyclists and visitors to her shop on Main Street. Not only can cyclists stop in for a treat and shop trail gear, but are also encouraged to use her space as a longe to recharge from their travels across the state.

"Our trail is vital to Centerburg, Knox County and Ohio," said Hux. "I'm so happy to offer a unique stop along the trail where cyclists feel safe to explore our trail town, rest from their travels and shop for local gifts."

Did you know that Knox County's trails not only sit along the middle of the Ohio to Erie Trail, but we are also apart of the 12 state Rails to Trails Conservancy Great American Rail-Trail!?!?🚲

"One of the central selling points for the Rail Trail is the opportunity to expand and channel tourism. In 2022, an analysis by the nonprofit research group Headwaters Economics found that the trail could eventually spur 25 million annual trips and more than $200 million in visitor spending for trailside communities."

The Knox County Park District is proud to present Fire & Ice 2024! An event full of wonder and benefitting Food For The Hungry of Knox County. Attendees can park their vehicle at the Millwood Church of Christ, drop off their donation(s) (shelf-stable food and/or monetary contributions)and will board a free Knox Area Transit shuttle to the infamous Honey Run Waterfall.

Greeted by natures amazing sights and waterfall sounds, but lead by glowing luminaries along the trail path; this event is sure to create some warm holiday memories! 😍❄️🔥✨

On Tuesday, October 29th, -Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) hosted their annual Summit on Sustainability. This conference brings together community leaders to share and explore sustainable ideas and celebrate collaborative sustainability efforts with Regional Sustainability Awards.♻️

The Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau is honored to be apart of the passionate and collaborative Central Ohio Trail Towns Working Group, that was recognized with the 2024 Collaborative Achievement in Sustainability Award.🏆

With leadership from Experience Columbus and Westerville Recreation & Parks representatives, our team has collaborated with representatives from London, Centerburg, Mount Vernon, Sunbury, the Ohio to Erie Trail Board and other regional trail leaders, to develop a trail towns program that celebrates the diversity of the communities along the Central-Ohio trail network. 🚲

By utilizing the Trail Towns Framework developed by the Central Ohio Greenways Board, our Working Group has established a sustainable model to launch and support trail towns, fostering economic and cultural vitality in Central Ohio.📈

Our trails (and green amenities) are a big piece of what makes Knox County so special! We are excited to be apart of this recognition and look forward to continuing our work to expand and elevate what it means to be a "trail town". 🚲😍💚
